Roger doing A Kind Of Magic

Anyone else just LOVE this? It was the highlight of the Wembley gig in '08. I think he does it extremely well. Always will look a tad lost without his drums though, and Brian May has done more brilliant versions of the solo but that's opening night for you.

A definite highlight of QAL so far. Rog really seems to be relishing his moments out front...

Rog and Bri out front are the highlights of the concerts - it means Lambert isn't singing and spoiling things!

I find it absolutely horrendous. And what the hell are those cheap sound effects at the start? Embarrasing.
Saying that, I would much prefer Roger singing than Brian - I mean, I love Bri to bits but his voice is just so weak and not nice on the ears at all. Stick to the guitar.

I love Roger's voice. He's so theatrical here.

It's one of the highlights of the entire show. Roger's voice is lovely on this song and he packs an emotional punch with it too.

Those ''It's A Kind Of Magic'' effects at the beginning are fucking dreadful. Sounds like an amateur version, a tribute band. Oh, the irony.

The effects are certainly awful on AKOM. Its strange that they can not hear how cheap it is. Also the synth replacing Rogers voice in the instrumental/harmony part of 39 also springs to mind as very cheap.

And yes, the Queen Extravaganza version is superior by far.

I preferred the 2008 version of '39 with Spike on accordion.

I had wonder about that part of '39. Having never heard the song before, I found it jolting when the synth came in. I finally decided it must be trying to evoke the sound of a choir -- but it sounds like a ghostly choir. Or a synthesizer.

BTW, I thought Roger was wonderful on AKoM, but I couldn't think of anything more clever to say than I agree. So.. I agree.

I don't normally like Roger's singing, but I think he does this really well! They both seem happy to be back on stage and I suspect they both understand that there won't be many more times that it will happen....
