Brian and Roger were asked to perform at an event, and they needed a frontman. They could have asked anyone, including Paul Rogers, those who had done the Freddie Mercury tribute, the people they were currently auditioning for the tribute band, anyone who had been in WWRY ever, and two huge international stars who declared themselves directly inspired by Queen and who were already booked for the event.
But they decided to go with a guy they'd met on a reality TV show a couple years earlier.
