Paul has an ok voice. But if he's so great, why did he turn his back on Queen? Or was it that Brian kicked him out? I have heard both. At least Adam was grateful for the opportunity to learn from the masters.

I don't think these collaborations are ever meant to be permenant, whether there was dissent or not.

Prescott - If you knew anything about Paul Rodgers then the one thing that is obvious is that he has a track record of not hanging round for long in any of the band situations he has been part of. He was never kicked out of Queen because he was never part of Queen, in the same way Lambert was never a part of Queen. It was Queen +. The collaboration just came to a natural end.

Sorry, not interested in Paul more than listening to a couple songs. I didn't think he was that good. To each his own. Too bad he doesn't feel the need to be loyal to bands who are willing to give him a paycheck.

Sorry you feel that way.
Yet you say you are not intrested and then say Paul isn't loyal...what gives you that idea? Guess what Q+PR lasted much longer than Q+AL.

I'm all for Paul as well. I find him more interesting as an artist. Also, I am glad I got introduced to him because otherwise I would have never learned about some really great rock tracks from his solo work, Free and Bad Company stuff.
I enjoyed the 2005 shows more so however. In 2008 I had the feeling that the "chemistry" wasn't as friendly and mutual as three years before.
I enjoy most of The Cosmos Rocks as well. I don't care that "Queen" is printed on the product, I knew before what I bought and that Freddie was unavailable for singing, as was John for the bass parts.
I don't think I'd be interested in an album with Adam Lambert as a singer. I enjoyed the Hammersmith gig with him, but new material... nah.

Because he has a very successful solo career and has done for many years.

Rodgers was a master before Queen even formed.

As I've just posted elsewhere, reading the sleevenotes of the remastered "Fire And Water" album, from which All Right Now was the big single, the engineer on it was no other than a very young Roy Thomas Baker!

Yeah, back in the days Mr Rodgers made it big, you didn't have reality TV shows to give you a leg up. The good ones, had to be bloody good.

If Rodgers were starting out NOW, I'd bet you he'd be auditioning to get on one of those TV shows.

People give Idol a lot of crap as well as the singers who appear on them but ALL a TV show does is give you an opportunity, it's still up to the singer to win people over, work their ass off to win and THEN maintain a career.

and what successful solo career are you speaking of? the one where he plays casinos? Rodgers hadn't been on, well, anyone's radar for many years until he hooked up with Queen.

the exposure these tv shows assure you is more than just an opportunity.
the media coverage of these things is ridiculous

would paul rodgers appear on one of them had he been 25 today? a pointless disucssion, really...somehow though, I don't think he would. as he has proven, he's a very good writer. and from what I gather about these things..they tend to attract people who can't write and needs to rely on other people's ability to write songs

Either, or both, but not using the Queen name. That'd be my choice.
John hated Hot Space. Frederick's favourite singer was not Paul Rodgers. Roger did not compose 'Innuendo.' Witness testimonies are often inaccurate. Scotland's not in England. 'Bo Rhap' hasn't got 180 voices.
