There's just something special to me about the IWTBF performance off of ROTC.
Also, HTF/IWIA off of Ukraine. That was the first QPR video I saw. Everything about that performance just seems so perfect!
I was originally looking for a video of Queen performing IWIA since I wanted to hear it live. I obviously found out that that had never happened. I saw the title of the video stated there would be a song before IWIA and decided I'd just listen to it instead of skipping ahead. One thing I really like in music is vocal harmonies and immediately liked HTF with its choruses.
Then when I heard that transition at 3:48, saw the lights change, Brian's head nods, and Paul Rodgers' Chuck Norris looking stance, I was blown away by this band's awesomeness. And ever since then I've been listening to Queen, QPR, Bad Company, Free, The Firm, and Paul Rodgers regularly, even seeing him live. Great music!
I may be biased but I think that Brian and Roger gave Free and Bad Company songs so much more BALLS. As much as I dislike the "chemistry" metaphor when it comes to bands, I do think it pretty much sums it up for Brian and Roger. They are tight, Roger plays with power and Brian gives those songs the roar that lifts them to another level.
I think i love their rendition of "Feel Like Makin' Love" the most... from the '05 tour. I love the moment on the DVD when Paul picks up a condom from the ground (that was thrown there for "Say It's Not True") holds it in the air and let's out one of his growling "yeeeeaaaaaah".
Despite the hick up in One Vision, this is great stuff.
All of them obviously in great spirits, Paul with superb vocals (my favourite non-Freddie version of The Show must go on, easily), a nice selection of hits, and a great surprise to end with one of Paul's songs - one of not many songs by ANYONE that could work in that spot on that setlist
Who knew it would be all over later the same year?
