were the screens at hammersmith?
if not, the cameras must have been there with a potential release in mind.

a release of this poses a problem though. the QPR releases were put out when the band was an active force, and the first two dvds documented what in essence was Queen first tour in 19 years, and they were released when everybody was waiting for what was coming next. the tour was a big success, and it was obvious the QPR were excited and hungry for more. The Ukraine 2008 gig documents (although you can certainly argue it doesn't) a long world tour on the back of a brand new album, and the set lists has new songs on it.

Queen & karaoke man - is there any momentum there to justify a live release? they did 5 dates, and I think it's safe to say it was more controversy around it than the QPR pairing.
to release a dvd from the short run of dates would be weird. I think there's little demand for it, unless you'd want to cater a potential lambert market in the us. a release with QUEEN + whoever, designed to be of interest to the "whoever's" fans, would be very sad.

of course, if any more Queen & karaoke man shows happen, a live release would make more sense. (to some...)

personally, I wouldn't touch it. perhaps I'd obtain it online, and make a dvd of the portion of the show where the karaoke dude is not on stage

But it was strategically released on a dead week and it fell out of the top 200 in just a few weeks. The album turned a year old last week and it still hasn't sold what his first one did in ONE week. It was a FLOP!

Time for me to be honest. If the Kiev show with Elton John were to be released, I just might buy it. If proceeds were donated, I'd buy it no doubt.
Other than that, no way.
How did you get your copy?

google it :) promoting non official products on this board is frowned upon, but it's not too difficult to find a decent looking version

I wouldn't want it that way, possibly not even if it was to be released. The only way I can see myself buying if it will be released, if proceeds were to be donated.
I'm more than ok with the Freddie Tribute and 46664, AND I could never imagine having a bootleg of that.

I can't remember how I ordered the Kiev DVD. I believe it was to benefit AIDS but now I don't remember the link where I purchased it for $12.00.

It wasn't official,if it was, it would have been discussed here and it indeed was for AIDS so I'd go as far to say your money went to no cause.

There is no way that your money went to any cause as it was definitely a bootleg recording of the broadcast.

Pretty much what I said above.
Big shame on many people I feel. Well, it pisses me off people would buy this and knowing what the cause was/is for, and the wrong people making a profit from it.

Well it's not like they are buying it instead of buying an official product. That would be shitty. But if there is no alternative official release I wouldn't begrudge someone buying a bootleg DVD. I have a copy of it on my hard drive...and I would buy an official release

It's shitty to me. Quite a few times I could have purchased bootlegs of the Freddie Tribute before it ever was released on VHS and DVD. I didn't/wouldn't buy a bootleg knowing what the day was for, what the cause was/is about.
As much as I want to see the whole Freddie Tribute, no way would I buy a bootleg of it. It wouldn't be a good thing for me to do. Buying/selling bootlegs/knock offs where charity/s is concerned is like taking $$/help from people who need it IMO.

Indeed, and as CNB has hinted at: He/she obviously believed that he/she "benefitted AIDS" (sic!)
