What was upsetting after 2:20?
The most disturbing thing for me was at the beginning, seeing Miley Cyrus in her majorette costume trying to sing live. ;)

Ouch  . Miley sure knows how to get people's attention! :P

No, it was Queen + fun. Adam only came on at the end to sing WWRY/WATC! :P

The second headline/Roosevelt article is titled;

Adam Lambert + Queen Bring Down the House at the iHeart Music Festival (Full Set Video)

It should be Queen + AL

Yes, of course, the Queen name should always be first! Some so-called journalists are very stupid!

Have to say this:

I didn't watch the whole iHeart fest but watched a few pop stars performance and I was relieved when Queen+AL came to stage. Exception: I really loved Elton John performance, real intstrumental music, real entertainer.

My point is: iconic music and musicians with their instruments featured with Adam Lambert who has his own amazing instrument: the voice. I was so happy to hear this unforgettable set :)

Are some still going on about Nate?
Good for Nate though at least his looks didn't get attention in the comment above. I'd much rather focus on the music.

One thing I've got to say here is that, surely one of the main reasons for Queen+ playing with AL is to grow the younger audience. Brian has basically said this, after this gig.

But where are all the new younger fans posting here?

I get the impression that most of the AL fans in this thread, and there are only 4 or 5 posting very regularly anyway, are mostly older women.

And there is nothing wrong with that obviously :-D and I may be wrong, but that's the impression I get. AL is maybe not the person to work with to get the younger fans into Queen?
Hot Space is actually only my 6th favourite Queen album.
(But is a very underrated album in my opinion).

Oh shucks, and it was said Brian and Roger did it because they love to play and love Adam :P .
I think if Brian and Roger did AL, Dappy, Lady GaGa, etc to try to reach younger fans...well I think that's kinda sad. I feel the back catalogue and the fact it still sells well speaks volumes...more than all this + in the last few years ever could. I agree Adam isn't the right one to grow the younger audience. It's not doing all that well in keeping the older ones from what I've been reading for nearly 2 years(not only here).

I very much doubt that those young people who like Queen/Adam Lambert/Queen+AL are not going to post here QOL. Youg people have their own channels like twitter etc. Your impression is at least partly correct. I'm one old woman so called Glambert who believe Queen+AL collaboration and wave the flag for them

I really enjoyed the concert until AL went all Mariah Carey at the end of WATC. Foolish me for thinking he could make it through a concert without inserting a random unnecessary vocal run somewhere... (I have no problems with vocal runs, but AL always seems use them in a "look what I can do" fashion rather than to serve the needs of the song.)

WWTLF was as great as I expected. This seems to be everyone's favorite Queen song for AL to perform and he sings it more or less like the original, which just goes to show that he can make a song his own without trying so darn hard to make a song his own. CLTCL was surprisingly good and his best performance of that song to date.

I read that Nate from fun has been having vocal problems and fun even cancelled a concert recently. He was supposedly on doctor-ordered vocal rest till this concert. (I guess he couldn't pass up the opportunity to perform with Queen even though he wasn't 100% there vocally, and who can blame him!) I found this pretty good cover of Radio Ga Ga fun did (which has an interesting gospel-ish ending!), so I can see why people think he would do well singing Queen, and especially STL. (The fun keyboardist has no excuse for messing up the intro for STL though!)

Brian sounded great. Some of the songs seemed to be a slower tempo, which I assume is to accommodate Roger. While that's understandable, hearing the songs slower than what I'm used to sapped some energy from them for me.

stumbled across the iheart thing on youtube, and despite the 2012 experience, I watched it.

and let me say this: the fact that I hate all the various karaoke programmes and all the fame and glory it ensures a whole range of talentless twats, this has nothing to do with the following statement: lambert doesn't fit.

simple as that. he has no rock voice, he has no controll of his vibrato (ironically, he probably has, but thus must be half deaf not to hear what it does to the songs), and he is FAR too theatrical and camp in everything he does.
There is not the slightest edge in his performace. It's like watching a broadway singer with no style of his own who's trying to somewhat duplicate the man who made songs famous

enough already. stop it.

I don't think the two objectives are mutually exclusive. ;)

I'll agree with RPeura that new, young fans aren't likely to be showing up here yet. They already have their own places to discuss things they like. That's not to say I think there are millions of new fans today where there weren't last week. That sort of thing takes more than one performance, don't you think?

I know what you mean. Back in the EMAs, when he did that, I thought, "Oh, Adam. Was that necessary?" It does seem like showing off.

I wondered why he kept doing it, and why Brian and Roger wouldn't tell him to cool it. And I think there may be an actual, practical reason he does it. Other than to show off, I mean. I think it's about getting the audience revved up for the "big finish." When I look at what the live audience reaction is, I see their energy building as they anticipate the release of the final note, and then their reaction is stronger when it comes.

.... it's a theory, anyway. ;-)
