Roger and Brian solo plans

Postby Montreux » Fri Nov 10, 2017 4:05 pm

I met Roger and Brian at the Prague airport in November. During little autograph and photo sessions I asked them about their solo plans beacuse I love their solo work. I just want to share it with you. Sorry for my English... ;-)

Me: "Are you going to do some solo tour, Mr. Taylor?"
Roger: "I don't have any plans."
Me: "And what about new solo album?"
Roger: "I don't know. We'll see." (smile)

Me: "Mr. May, will you release some solo collection?"
Brian: "Yeah, maybe I will." (gives a nod)

The Brian May Solo box has been on the cards since Roger released his.
What is left of your dream?
Just the words on your stone.
A man who learnt how to teach,
But forgot how to learn.

He did. 51 Degrees North.

Roger did. Solitary

But both aren't exactly release worthy. 51 Degrees North is mostly ambient droning. No "songs" or even suites or whatever.

Same with Roger although Rog included some of his own tracks as songs...and even a nice little number performed by two of his children called Moon Runners (or something like that), But the soundtrack itself is mostly droning..

Actually Roger and Brian solo box sets were in the works and plans since 2001 after the year 2000 when "The Solo Collection" by Freddie Mercury was released. Oh, and by the way that needs to be re-released...as well as "The Lot" for that matter.
