The Golden Boy (Horn Remix)

Does anyone know why this was only released on the 2012 promo single of Barcelona? It's absolutely AMAZING! Crazy not to have included it on the new 2012 album as an extra track.

I found a copy of it for sale on ebay here:

IMO this is the best version of the song. It's a shame that it cuts out a large chunk though.

Regarding copies of the promo, be warned that there are definitely fakes out there, burned from mp3 copies of the tracks. They are also given away by a spelling mistake on the sticker which (oddly) is blurred out on the photo of the item you've linked to.

Well the chunk of the song it cuts though is kind of necessary for the remix to work. The feel the song has would be ruined with the parts retained imo. I love it too though.

Let's quote Bohemian Rhapsody: "No, no, no, no, no, no ,no!"

Too busy in my ears. Has very interesting ideas, but overall.
I know it's not to make the song better, but merely do something different. But in this case, I don't like this kind of different.

I think the newly re-recorded jazz feel backing track and the chunk removed actually makes the song a thousand times better. It cuts to the best bit quicker! :)

Well to me it's a different song...The original is far more epic and dramatic and theatrical which is awesome. This one is a different beast - jazzy and funky. I like them both equally for different reasons!

It's very interesting.

Don't think I prefer it to the original(s) but does it matter?

I would like to own it though. What's the point in putting it on a promo? What's the point in promoting something you can't buy?!

I guess these CD copies were sent around to radio stations to promote the album.

Anyone know if Rufus Taylor is the drummer on this? My guess would be yes as he added the other new drum tracks to the Barcelona special edition release.
