I will purchase the new album and hope it is an improvement, Brian is obviously keen for everyone to be as excited as he clearly is with regards to this release and not that in anyway he needs to at this stage of his career given the vast success he has had but do just wonder how far he has stretched himself on this project ? Justifiably he wants Kerry Ellis to get the success and recognition her talents rightly deserve but sadly it seems no one outside of either the Queen fraternity or theater musical tastes will be the slightest bit interested in this release. An example of another talented female singer that a member of Queen has worked with is Treanna Morris ( remember her ? ) great voice and a great album 'Naked' i seem to think it was called.
Whilst i doubt that it will ever happen now due to his various other commitments but i would dearly like him to take 6 months to write and record a solo record with 'brand new songs' and just 'rock out' an album that he can write and record to please himself as i am sure this would be a stronger more powerful album than something such as this and maybe have a greater appeal to more people.
'Golden Days' no doubt will be another acceptable release to add to Brian's list of releases and collaborations but hardly one to blow the doors off or one that we will be talking about in future years. May just dust off Anthems and give it another listen , although i seem to recall i did try a number of times but just could not get excited...
