Freddie Mercury (& Dave Clark) Interview 7 Minutes Long

This has just been uploaded yesterday. There are other snippets of that interview floating around on YouTube, but this is the longest version. Truly amazing 8-)

I was on Youtube browsing around and stumbled upon this. You beat me! Lol

Great interview. I love how Freddie is insistent on his music being escapism. He didn't want to be a John Lennon or Stevie Wonder. And frankly, I prefer it when music is free of trying to change the world. So I agree with Fred...even though I know that kind of music has its place.

I also like his honesty. He was very honest that his voice wouldn't fit in the musical theater world. He knows his limitations and isn't afraid to admit it. It's refreshing to hear him talk like that. Just very human, you know?

I saw someone posted that on Facebook. I'll watch it later, but it's pretty damn cool that Freddie and someone else who is such a significant figure in music were friends, anyway. :D

Also, my local Major League Baseball team, the Detroit Tigers, once had (or still do have, I dunno) a coach named Dave Clark, who wore #25 on his jersey. I always thought, it would be cool if he wore #5 instead. But, that wouldn't work, because that number is retired for the Tigers. "Hammerin" Hank Greenberg. And, hmm.....according to the Wikipedia article I just looked at, he was the first Jewish superstar in American team sports. Well.....learn something new every day, right?

Would it save you a lot of time if I just gave up and went mad now?

What a fantastic interview. I've never seen any clips of this before so my mind was blown when this popped up last night, and in such great quality as well.
Freddie's so endearing to listen to, and very honest. He knew he was a genius yet still downplays his vocal contribution to Queen, saying that their trademark vocal sound wasn't just him but the four of them (Deacy included!!).

I can't imagine anyone else singing those 'Time' songs now, he truly made them his own. Great foresight by DC to get Freddie involved in the project.

It's not the longest version, that would be on the offical blu-ray release by Dave Clark and it's about 20 minutes.
