Freddie M. + Montserrat C. Live At La Nit 1988 - (questions)

I have always wondered, many people talk about Knebworth as the last Queen concert, but this was the last chance to see Freddie live.

- Were any of you there in the audience?

- Was the concert announced though the Official Queen Fan Club, letting Queen fans know about it?

- Was it a free concert, or did you have to buy tickets?

How was the sound, and how many people attended this very special event?

Besides, to my big surprise, Jose Carreras and Dionne Warwick where on stage with Freddie in this clip, which I saw for the first time today  .

And why, why isn't this concert released in it's entirety?

The spectacular opening ceremony in 1992, lighting the flame with bow and arrow. One of the last great Olympic Games. Seems like ages ago. This was before internet and cell phones took over our lives.

This month is the 30th Anniversary for the live performance (October 1988 - October 2018)

The performance occurred on 8 October 1988, at the open air La Nit festival in Barcelona, which was staged on the occasion of the arrival of the Olympic flag from Seoul. Together, Mercury and Caballé sang three tracks from the forthcoming album Barcelona, namely "Barcelona", "How Can I Go On" and "The Golden Boy". This was the last live performance of Mercury who was already beginning to suffer from AIDS

Montserrat Caballè passed away 6 October 2018.

They didn't sing anything that night.

Don't think they ever sang live together, did they? They performed a few times but they were always miming. Is that correct?

I know it was mimed, but the music was played, and they were there in person.. and there was an audience.
And it was the last time Freddie performed on a stage.

So I wonder, were you there?
Did the Queen fanclub inform their members back in 1988, so that fans could attend?

You would also think that someone in the crowd brought a camera and shot some photos or even a video?

At least there must have been journalists and photographers present ?? But I have never seen a single photo from this event. To be honest I find it very odd.

I was just correcting what you wrote there.
I read on queenconcerts.com that those three songs were released on DVD, but for the rest I don't know... Hoping it helps.

all I can say is that Mercury feels not quite very well that day, so at the last minute, they need to put the tape instead of performing live. Freddie was also very angry after the performance, becouse the tape was played on a slow time

Point STILL remains, the last time "Queen" played live in front of a paying audience, was Knebworth Park in 1986.

No amount of wriggling around can EVER change that fact.

Freddie "might" have sung live at the Dominion Theatre, and might have mimed at the Barcelona thing, but Freddie was just 1/4 of Queen, so two of the band playing live, probably holds more credence than a quarter miming.

However, this was the last time Freddie was seen on a stage in front of an audience.

So I wonder if the people were invited, or was it a free show?

I am just curious why so little photos/videos have been seen, apart from the few official ones. Not much Queen related going on in the years 1987 - 1988.
