I'll go with the cheapest option, ie. PC.

Haven't used a Mac since 1993 when we had one of those semi-original "birdhouses" at school.

Linux is free.

Can you tell me which store gives away these "Linux" -brand computers that are free?

We are talking about computers like Mac and PC instead of operating systems like Windows, Linux, or Mac OS aren't we? :?

But linux is the best.

Both, although primarily PC's/Laptops. Amy has a macbook and I'm a qualified Mac support engineer so know how to use them inside out, but have a hatred of them personally. Here at home I have a Windows PC, a Windows server, two Windows laptops and a Macbook. At work on my desk, I have two Windows PC's and a Linux test server but maintain a server farm and client base that's almost entirely Windows although Mac's are becoming more and more common.

Laptop for me. Before I bought mine I hated the thought of using a laptop as it sounded weird the thought of operating without using a mouse. But then I borrowed someone's old laptop as my PC wasn't working right and I found it really easy to use, so I went and bought my own one.

You didn't actually answer the question, did you? Aren't there laptop versions of both PC and Mac? ;-)

I don't know what kind of a laptop you're using, but every single model that I've seen from this millennium has the possibility to connect a standard mouse... Every computer comes with USB ports these days, and every mouse has a USB connector.

Maybe you should have invested £5 into a new mouse?

I use a pc by default, but I'm loving Safari so much as a browser... and I'm thinking my next mp3 player will prolly have to be an iPod for space issues... so I might as well go the whole hog and switch to Mac next time around.

Basically, I use my PC as an entertainment port - I want to play music and edit sound and vision with it. It seems that Mac is the logical choice for me...

I was like that with our laptop. I used to hate the touch pad thing instead of a mouse but now I'm used to it and laptops are so much faster than big computers. :)

Laptop in my dorm. I only use a PC in my comp class, in the school library or when I need to print something at home.

PC. I can't stand Mac keyboards and a system with a "Force End" button knows it's flawed. Ctrl-alt-del is for emergencies only. :P

Don't do it, Didy! I think you'll be sorry. My ex has gone through at least 5 or 6 (lost count) iMacs since we bought that house in 2001. I see he's trying to get another one.

They used to crash so bad at work (art department in the newspaper offices) they had them doing an auto-save every 15 minutes because the ad builders were losing all their work and being paid to do it over and over, loosing a lot of money for the company.

As far as I am concerned, the damn things are not user friendly, compared to a PC, either.
