The Stats Page

Postby fairydandy » Sat Nov 25, 2017 3:59 pm

Oh my god, it's hideous!

Top poster Icy - 15300 posts - no Ice, Ice baby, I love ya, but come on now... :P
fairydandy 8153 posts and in 7th place.
I mean Elessar, 4th place and he got killed by a prostitute in 2016!
Still no action in the top 10. Maybe they don't count his posts with just a '.'

Top 10 viewed topic, ok, at no 1 with 'In The News Today'...it's all good, that's quite correct. :P But beware of cheap imitations at No 3, 'In the news today (North American version)'.

Top 10 topics with the most replies. 'The LOASA Café - The Mighty Titan's Troubadours'....really, what on earth happens in there and where on earth is it? Is this some sort of a B List thing?

Top Forum - as above. What the fuck!

Three quarters of those posts were probably arguing with you, you daft c*nt. :-)

You'd be running away with it, if you hadn't gone through a phase of deleting yourself and zeroing your post count on a bi-weekly basis.

Oh, I also refute ANY allegations that I "Twitter" about anything. Despite being a daft old bird, I don't do ANY anti-social media.

Far cry from the good old days isn't it?

We didn't half live on here back in the day...

I've just realised that, as we're now in 2018, we're edging closer and closer to 18 years since I first logged onto a message board on Queen's website (the Freddie solo collection bulletin board), and before that, it'll be 17 years since the debut of the fully fledged "Queenonline" forum.

Wowsa.

Here's the earliest saved version of the Freddie boards on the Internet Archive - just one front page saved showing snippets of conversations underway in February 2001. I was "PauL*" - so pretentious! - from around October 2000 until about March or April 2001, when we could no longer afford the shitty Netscape dial-up we used to have back then.

And for comparison, here's an early saved version of the QOL message board from October 2002. It appears the site opened around 25th September 2001, though I didn't get there til 23rd June 2002 having only just got the internet back!

Wonderful.

I can still recall seeing the Queenonline web address on the Made In Heaven products (anyone else remember the MIH eggs?) and thinking how amazing and futuristic the accompanying picture looked; I think that must have been the first time I had ever heard of the place. Quite depressing to think that was 23 years ago...just where have all those years fucked off to?

Are you sure about that? I don't have the album covers anymore, they all went ages ago (purely digital nowadays), but I didn't think the www address appeared until later than that.

Just had a thought, why hasn't Queenonline got an entry on Wikipedia? :P

Your right, it wasn't Queenonline back then. The address on the MIH booklet was for http://queen-fip.com
I thought I looked crap even back then.

Here's a link I managed to find from QZ:

Well, it was definitely a web link for the band - maybe it was on one of the single covers (Let Me Live seems to ring a bell). Fuck knows.

I definitely remember the Asda MIH eggs though. How utterly random.

Queenonline is not on Wikipedia? I think one of us should go and change that. But I cannot be arsed...fd, it's over to you.
