Ah, I guess it wouldn't be a QOL thread without a sacko-post-deletion or two!

Anyway, here's a Xmas tune, featuring the younger Mr. Taylor on the drums. :D

Well, it has officially been the crappiest Christmas I have ever experienced. I caught a lung infection mid-December, which triggered a full-blown heart attack on December 23rd. I spent all of Christmas up until yesterday in hospital, receiving emergency treatment and basically fighting my way back to the land of the living. Later on next year, once I'm virus-free and a bit stronger, I'll go in for more check-ups, and maybe have surgery to improve my quality of life. As it stands it doesn't look like I'll be able to work much any more, so the next few months will be spent looking at my life and seeing how a medical retirement will work. On the plus side, I was told that my diet was what saved my life, as it cushioned my body against the full effects of the attack- otherwise, it *would* have killed me.

The best gift I had this year is my life, and the unstinting love and support of my family who will remain uppermost in my thoughts at all times. As such, I may spend even less time here than I do now- I *really* can't afford any more stress, and that's serious.

Love and best wishes to all, regardless of who you are or past history- I'm truly beyond that shit now- and I wish you all well.

Love and best wishes back to you, S.S. I hope your health continues to improve. I know it's not much, but I'm thinking of you. I actually was concerned when I didn't see you post for awhile.
Thinking of you. and. Thank you as well for all you have done for me

Sorry to hear this but very happy that you have got through this crisis. Things like this put things into perspective and just show how silly and futile we can be. Hoping 2018 and beyond is healthy for you.

Thank you both. For those who want to know, the lung infection is pneumonia, and how it hit me so suddenly is something that I'll never forget. One day a bit breathless going home from work, the next, blind agony and fighting to breathe at all. I have to say that the nursing staff at both hospitals I attended were wonderful and very caring, especially so at this time of year, and they did their utmost to keep me informed of any developments, and make me comfortable and safe.

I'm glad the nursing staff was so good and kept you informed.
I'm glad and I'm thankful you are still here. It's weird, some people from here are more to me than just names on a screen for me.
I'm glad you let us know how you are doing. I hope you get stronger every day.
I'm proud of you if you don't mind my saying so.
I'm rooting for you and hoping for you all the way from Canada.

(Your post here hits so close to home. I know how life altering a crisis can be after a loved one of mine took ill in October. She's recovering, but it's a long, bumpy road.)
