Since I don't have a TV that connects to any channel with Fox news or Fox TV for that matter, I don't see how I can possibly be watching Fox News. This is what is on the net. Excuse me.

So, your opinion of what i have posted, then? Racist?

hmmm... should have deleted the graphic off your original post, rather than just leaving it out of that one.

I don't care. Are you going to sit there and say those countries are not bombing US Embassies and the reason is because Fox posted a map?

Edited to add: I would really think you should be more concerned about what is happening in the middle east and in this country than to find reasons to pick fights with me. But, no, that's you. You just always want a fight and to put people in their place (their place as far a YOU are concerned!)

HA! Here ya go. This is NOT by Fox News and it's even worse looking than Fox's.

I REALLY don't get why you have to be such a pain in the ass all the time. Yea I know I am, too, but deliberately fighting just for the hell of it to prove your point is a bit stupid, IMO. You haven't even posted here in weeks and the minute I post anything political, it's like someone blew a fog horn in your ear to get over here and fight. :sleepy:

Heh, the Telegraph, very right wing UK newspaper, has run a story about how the embassy protests prove the ridiculousness of the argument that if America and her allies stopped invading middle eastern countries, relations with Muslim nations would improve.

...I'm not sure how, as we haven't tried the stop invading middle eastern countries option yet.
But Eden is burning, either brace yourself for elimination

It's now reached a point where every single paper apart from the Guardian has a specific reason to not want to buy it. I actually feel that after The Sun's apology, which did seem genuine, I could actually buy it now if I ever wanted to buy a shit newspaper with details of answer phone messages left on dead schoolgirl's phones.

The Guardian are okay, I would still not buy the Sun for anything and I wasn't convinced by their apology, but then I wouldn't really buy any newspaper.

Would it be ridiculous of me to suggest that there's some sort of conspiracy going on that is trying to make us dislike Islam/Muslim nations? I mean, within our own country the extremist groups are freely allowed to protest, while the 'extremist' Western groups like the EDL are not, while elsewhere in the world we seem to be purposely fucking them off and provoking them. Then again, if followers of the 'religion of peace' can kill and injure and riot over an Internet B-movie, no, a Z-movie by some nobody Yank, then there's reason to dislike them?

It wouldn't be ridiculous. It's not a conspiracy though, it's expedience. It's not limited to Muslim people/Nations either, it's whoever it is expedient to scapegoat at any given time.

Also, after the first sentence, things get less true. :P The EDL, are allowed to freely protest, they do so regularly. They only get in any trouble if they break the law. Groups like Muslims Against Crusades (the ones who burned poppy wreaths on 11/11) have been banned from public protests.

This is why there's no conspiracy involved. Sow the seeds of dislike and people will make the rest up themselves. Killing over a movie is just tragic, but it's not that simple. In the middle of a war, in which America are the enemy and made themselves very deliberately such, extremists are very easily bred. Innocent people who happen to be of the same religion, don't deserve to fall under that banner. Rather than seeing the killing and riots as a sign of why disliking Muslims is reasonable, it should be seen as another, horrible, result of an unjustifiable war.

It seems to us Westerners that the Muslims are killing lots of Christians (thousands). They seem like a violent religion. To them, the Christians have killed hundreds of thousands. Maybe even millions. Their posts have far more large capitalised bold red text than ours.

The reality is that neither religion is intrinsically violent (notwithstanding Old Testament God committing genocide and encouraging infanticide and rape). Humans are, especially irrational humans. And the most irrational humans tend to be the religious ones. That's not to say all religious folk are irrational, or that all atheists are rational. But if you believe that you will be rewarded in the afterlife or that God is advising your foreign policy, you're inevitably going to make decisions that you wouldn't otherwise make.
