Warboys should never have been released, and that goes for the rest of The Cosmos Rocks as well.

An empty bladder wouldn’t have made a difference, you’d probably have had an litre of IV fluid during the operation anyway. Who was the anaesthetist? Actually don’t tell me here - but I’m curious.

Haha ok. I can’t remember her name sorry. 35-40, slim, short black hair, very confidant. Took her 3 attempts to get the needle in the sweet spot. I wasn’t in any rush as I did not want a general anaesthetic. She was great actually.

This is great news, both on a personal level for Ardern and her family, and for gender equality in general:

Tom Petty died of an accidental drug overdose!

I am floored. Apparently he had a fractured hip.

LOS ANGELES – Tom Petty died of an accidental drug overdose, his family said in a statement after speaking with the L.A. County Coroner’s office.

According to a coroner’s report, Petty died of “multi-system organ failure” caused by “mixed drug toxicity.” During an examination October 3, 2017, the medical examiner found fentanyl, oxycodone, temazepam, alprazolam, citalopram, acetylfentanyl and despropionyl fentanyl.

Petty was also suffering from coronary artery atherosclerosis and emphysema.

The music legend’s family issued a statement saying that Petty had been touring for 53 dates with a fractured hip that developed into a full break. According to the statement, he was informed on the day he died.

“It is our feeling that the pain was simply unbearable and was the cause for his over use of medication,” they said.

His family added:

“On a positive note we now know for certain he went painlessly and beautifully exhausted after doing what he loved the most, for one last time, performing live with his unmatchable rock band for his loyal fans on the biggest tour of his 40 plus year career.”

So, two cases of racism in British politics in the last week or two: on the one side we have that awful, ignorant woman in UKIP (surely they are now a dead party) spouting her vile racist views; and on the other side we have a more sneaky, hidden type of racism from Corbyn - charging white party members £10.00 more to attend the Labour conference. Both actions only help to cause more divisions in our society. UKIP were rightly rounded on and slated; as for Labour? I have a sneaky feeling that they will walk away from their racist action absolutely untouched.

Sounds like a stupid idea that’s bound to generate controversy and whataboutery, but it appears to be a discount rather than an added charge. I know they sound like the same thing, but that’s how the council is able to double parking ticket fees if they’re not paid within 14 days. It’s axtually illegal to do that, so they give the increased price as the baseline fine but say that if you pay it promptly, you get a 50% discount.

Do pubs still do English tax in Scotland?

I hear what you are saying, but if we reversed this situation and charged black party members ten pounds more than white members then there would be something of an uproar. The Labour Party used to be the people's party, but this kind of action just causes more divisions, in my eyes.

Of course, I do not think for one second that Corbyn is a racist; but this latest move surely is: charging different amounts based on someone's skin colour. It's not on.

It turns out there was an even lower fee (£15) for young people, including young white people.

I can understand the logic charging younger people less money, in the sense that they may well not have the kind of cash as more mature folk and, also, that Labour has been chasing the Youth Pound (trying to attract younger voters) for a while. But, charging different rates based on the colour of one's skin has no excuse or logic behind it.

As I said earlier, if we reversed this situation there would be some kind of uproar. It is still discriminatory, which ever way one looks at it. And I am sure Corbyn's heart is in the right place (I would not vote for the man, but I have always respected the way he handles himself in interviews, etc.), but this sort of thing does him no favours.
