In the news today (North American version)

This is the place for topical debate and discussion about anything in the world (non-Queen related).

  Woah, you really don't know guns. You posted air rifles and kiddie guns.

The most powerful gun on that page is an air gun such as a Red Ryder, a spring piston gun in .177 (4.5mm) caliber that shoots a 6.5 grain pellet at relatively low velocities. It will kill a small bird or a mouse. You can also shoot yer eye out.

I see you know nothing about rifles. That was an automatic. You can hear it. No semi-automatic fires like the sniper's gun or guns did. He used illegal weapons. You can't stop selling illegal weapons as they are either modified by the person who owns them to be fully automatic or they purchased them from an illegal source, or both.

50 people have died and you are defending guns, and laughing while doing so.

This kid probably thought guns were toys as well.

Clearly fake news. The article is written in gibberish tongue and consists of random letters of the American alphabet put together to give the impression of sentences. :D ;-)

I can't help but wonder how and why the sonofabitch who carried this out managed to carry this out.

This man deserves some respect for having the courage to openly say he was wrong. However, the USA can’t afford to wait until everyone who subscribes to the national gun fetish has been a victim of gun-crime before it does something about it. In a nation of 350 million people, there are tens of millions of people who like having guns for whatever lame reasons they might care to come up with (“I want to kill some animals but oh by the way sign this dolphin petition please”), and they can dismiss these events as being the actions of terrorists and/or nutters with illegal weapons who would probably go on a mad stabbing spree with a machete and kill 50 people just as easily if guns were banned. These people, America, need to just be ignored, because they’re holding back a great nation. The USA should be steamrolling its way into the 21st century, leading the rest of the world, ideally with an electric/oxygen fuel cell engine, but instead it’s being pulled backwards by a bunch of cowboys.

You know damn full well I was laughing at you and not the fact people have been killed. Knock it off! The minute you come back and start posting, all hell breaks loose on here - every time.

Chris Sullivan, the owner of the Guns & Guitars gun shop in Mesquite, issued a statement confirming that Paddock was a customer who cleared ‘all necessary background checks and procedures,’ and said his business was cooperating with investigators. ‘He never gave any indication or reason to believe he was unstable or unfit at any time,’ Sullivan said.

Perfectly legal. Passed all checks. The shop is called ‘Guns and Guitars’. Are you sure the USA doesn’t have a problem with guns?

No, what you hear on the videos when the man is shooting are illegal weapons. Either he had other weapons with him or he modified semi-automatics or had someone do it for him. Not perfectly legal at all.

And something about this whole situation wreaks. There's a hell of a lot more than meets the eye.

White privilege? Are you serious? If you are, you better be damned ashamed that you're white!
