Kony 2012 - please watch and spread the word

This is the place for topical debate and discussion about anything in the world (non-Queen related).

Watch it and spread, but please don't buy their tacky merchandise. The organization behind the video have for years been quite disreputable.

But even if you do look into the history of IC, don't think their actions somehow take away from the main point.

Oh, and if you *do* have a few dollars to donate, but don't want to give it to IC, I suggest Project AK 47. (again, not so sure about the merchandise).

This ^^

He's probably hiding up Jabba The Hut's bunghole in the Namib desert, the whole world's supply of internet warriors could band together and not find him.

Ah, I see what he's doing - you're not allowed to have a conscience if your knowledge of geography isn't up to scratch. :)

I watched it all. Great initiative and now I will know who the posters in April refer too! Maybe the kids are the wrong colour, maybe we (and I include myself) would give a damn if they were white. :?

It's a bit like the pictures of the starving African kids, we sort of become immune to it all after a while. I don't need to add a disclaimer to say that my remarks are not racist do I?

Well, you did mention their colour.... :P

I watched a documentary on Liberia a few weeks ago, the warlords there do much worse things than this Kony guy. They sacrifice children to give them spiritual protection and they do it by drinking the child's blood and eating their heart afterwards. And they don't even make sure the child is dead first.

I have over a thousand friends on my facebook from all corners of the globe. Over half of them have been sharing this, talking about it. When I have more time, I will ask them more about it.
Yikes, FWD, that could not have been easy to watch!

Much worse than any of this Kony stuff. This is the introduction to the documentary, don't watch it if you're squeamish or eating breakfast, they hold very little back:

Rest can be watched here:

Made for VBS.tv, a sort of online TV channel. It's as good as anything Louis Theroux ever made, but much grittier and a little more serious.

Ah, I see what he's doing - you're not allowed to have a conscience if your knowledge of geography isn't up to scratch.

It's actually about slacktivists who *only* care because they've just heard of this issue for the first time.
