Wasp... At least, when Graham Chapman says it in a woody kind of way...

Weil es "Wespe" heißt, nicht "Wepse" :P

Mein schlechtes. Mein Deutsch sprechend, ist nicht so gut. "Touristy" Deutsch.

...mein schreiben, schlimmer!

Arghhhhh! Donner und blitzen, es ist eine riesige Euro-Wespe!

I knew it was "wespe", as we have a little motorised roller skate (officially a scooter) over here called a Vespa, and it sounds just like a f*cking wasp. I just made a basic typo. Senility creeping in, I'm afraid.

If today was my last day, maybe I'd try and learn German.

Do you want to impress Hitler or Beethoven in the afterlife? (Funny thing by the way that Austrians never cease to claim that Hitler was German and Beethoven Austrian by birth, whereas the opposite is true. Beethoven was born in Bonn, the former capital of West Germany, and Hitler was born in Braunau/ Austria. Any Austrians on this board?)

I figure if I'm going anywhere in the afterlife, it's probably not upwards, and which way do you think Adolf went?

If the stories I was told when I was younger are true, it was when he was on the streets in Austria, that someone thought Hitler was a Jew, treated him badly, and that's where his dislike of them started.

I guess he might still be pushing the "up" button on that elevator, it would still not move one inch higher.

I heard this myth too that he was actually a self-loathing Jew. Even if one of his ancestors was Jewish, doesn't really make that much of a difference what he did. And I am certainly not trying to get a copy of Mein Kampf to find out... Interesting fact though: Many people think Mein Kampf is forbidden in Germany. It is not, the German publisher just doesn't provide copies. Copyright runs out soon and then I'm sure we will see a surge of cheap reprints. And even then... and even if (especially if) it were my last day, I would not waste a second reading it. I guess I would apologize to all people I have wronged. Not because I believe in some sort of afterlife which will be determined by my way of living on this planet, but because regrets tend to become very strong when you know life is about to end.

Rechecked... Bavaria has the copyright, not an individual publishing house... It runs out on 31.12. 2015.
