One of Yanukovych's ex-minister's house was searched recently, they found 4.8 million dollars in cash and 42 kg of gold, plus jewellery, diamonds and all sorts of valuable papers  and thats just one minister, crooked as question marks the lot of them, UA are sure to benefit without them, eventually.

and now Moldova fear Russia's move into Transnistria and Moldova itself, having urged Moldova and Georgia to sign the pre-agreement with the EU.

Putin has 80,000 troops on the UA/Russian border, but says he has no intention of going into Ukraine  we'll take it he'll be across very soon then, that bloke couldn't lie straight in bed.

Very happy to hear this morning that things are quietening down, and things are now starting to look hopeful of a peaceful settlement.

Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has said Moscow has no intention of sending troops into Ukraine :) And Vladimir Putin has telephoned Barack Obama to discuss a possible diplomatic solution to the crisis.

More trouble kicking off in the eastern cities of Ukraine now.
Pro-Russian protesters who seized the regional government building in the city of Donetsk are reported to have declared a "people's republic". Ukrainian security officials are being sent to the eastern cities of Donetsk, Luhansk and Kharkiv after pro-Russia groups occupied government buildings.
Interim President Oleksandr Turchynov called the unrest an attempt by Russia to "dismember" Ukraine.
In an address on national TV, he said it was "the second wave" of a Russian operation to destabilise Ukraine, overthrow the government and disrupt planned elections.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Deshchytsya told Russia's Ekho Moskvy news agency that Kiev would go to war with Russia if it sent troops into eastern Ukraine.

Can i believe my ears? Putin doing a u-turn  a few days ago he was saying the presidential elections in Ukraine on May 25th were absurd, now he's saying he's backing them saying they are a step in the right direction, he's also telling pro Russians not to have their own regional independence referendums, and he says the troops on the borders are in the process of withdrawing, i'm quite shocked.

Putin seems to be so wishy washy. One week he says one thing and the next week, another. Usually he does a complete turn-around from what he said before, or so it seems. I just hope for the best for all concerned.

Looks like the pro Russian activists in the east are ignoring Putin, they say they'll go ahead with a planned referendum this weekend. Thats a massive snub for Putin.
