In answer to the question, at this point in time, I really don't know. There are pros and cons for staying in the EU. The rhetoric will be interesting to hear from both sides.

The cons are being told to stick to silly rules by people who might not actually intend on doing it themselves because the rules restrict your competitive edge.

Could not agree more. You can bet your bottom dollar though that the main focus of the referendum will be a word that starts with i.

Six votes cast and it's 50/50. Ok, hardly a fair representation of the country, but that's about where the polls will end, I think.

I think we'll stay in Europe but that's not because we had voted to stay in, I think the Government will make sure we stay in, by hook or by crook. Just like the Common Market all those years ago.........

I can't understand why we are 'negotiating'. What's to negotiate here? We should be telling the rest of Europe that these are our conditions to stay and there will be no discussion around it.

Anyway, it's not a club we need to belong to, for heaven's sake let's just get out.

I was reading the other night about Denmark ? not being in the EU after leaving & I was surprised on how much money they still have to contribute & also what certain rules they have to abide by. Basically it's not as straight forward in getting out of the EU as I thought. If I was voting tomorrow I'd be for leaving.

Ah, so we have a 'handbrake'. Trouble is, we can't use it unless we get all of the other 27 members to agree. Nio, that's not going to win votes to stay in!:roll:

Not that benefits are a major problem to me...but allowing immigrants from Poland (or wherever) to send home quite generous child benefits, is bordering on sheer lunacy! Ah...but we can go over there apparently to work for £3 an hour...ah, so that's alright then.

Personally, I want out, because I am a reluctant European anyway...it's little to do with any of the four conditions as set out by Cameron. I would like us to step back from the notion that we are a player on the world stage, we aren't, we've had our day....let's just become a bit of an irrelevance, it's much cheaper in the long run!

The polls suggest it's about 50/50 at the minute, but the comments on the BBC website after the news report, suggest that it's about 80% in favour of getting out. Now either the 'in' side are being quiet, or the polls are massively wrong.

There is something very wrong with the official polls! The online versions are showing 90%+ for leaving the EU. I just looked at the Daily Express and The Telegraph polls. It's odd, but the BBC news comments are showing similar amounts of 'anti' comments, as I said before. Maybe the 'stay' supporters don't feel the need to make any noise?

Now, that may not be accurate and the poll might be skewed, but it is the impression that you get when talking to people, reading comments online. I do think that when push comes to shove, that the result will be much narrower, but I wouldn't be at all surprised to see us leave the EU.

i think we might end up leaving, mainly because of the rhetoric from the right wing press. I stopped buying a newspaper a couple of years ago because of the bias in their editorial viewpoints which then slew their news coverage.

Personally I do not know which way I will vote or even if I will.
