Is Katie Price considered an athlete then? ;-)
What is left of your dream?
Just the words on your stone.
A man who learnt how to teach,
But forgot how to learn.

I could add a few American football players to that list. Just among some Detroit Lions players I've seen, even. Barry Sanders for one, that guy was just not a normal human being, with the elusiveness he had as a runner.

It brings to my mind another point, though. For some sports, at least, the best athlete isn't necessarily the best player. Take Tom Brady, who just became the second player in NFL history to win 5 Super Bowls (!). Some people are saying that now makes him the best ever at the quarterback position. Yet, no one would call him the best athlete, or the most athletic quarterback. That might be Michael Vick, or maybe Randall Cunningham, I guess. But neither of those guys won a Super Bowl.

Not bad at all, though I personally think Derek is a bit overrated. (Since the autocorrect on my Kindle just won't let me type that last name...lol)

LOL! Ozzie is the best, though but he's my personal choice. I have an album full of his baseball cards that I've collected for years. Used to go watch him play and back flip in St Louis, all the time. Love him to bits!

I'm totally with you on Ozzie...they didn't call him "the Wizard" for nothing, after all . That just reminds me of the two Tigers from the 80s who I think should be in the HOF... Trammell and Whitaker.

He will never be replaced for me. Not in my mind, anyway. I am not familiar with your two players. That's probably because they didn't play the Cards or did they? Er, I just checked and, yea, they did. Oooops! :P
