These days, I don't particularily feel the need to call people names. I'm still a pain in the fucking ass (ask Weemann about that one), but this time around it's more subtle, deeper. I'm perfectly content with my identity. I think I've finally grown up.

Well, good for you. I just hope all these ban warnings, etc. have not affected your beliefs and what you wish to say - because you sure have changed your tune on a few things.

I do not think name calling contributes anything obviously. But then what is name calling? We shall argue over that now! :P

Someone just tell me how comparing someone to Nazis is not supposed to be offensive. I mean, unless you're a white supremacist or something, it's pretty much the ultimate insult, right??

Damn it, you’ve managed to say in three lines what I’ve been trying to say for over a year!

But what I am getting at is that not everyone is offended by such a term - so just because you and whoever deem it so does not mean that everyone else has to think the same way.

People get offended at different things. You, I and Elly can feel and state what we want, but it ain't going to make a blind bit of difference to how others feel and use particular words.

It does definitely seem to be a leftie thing though; this being offended on the behalf of every other soul in the world who may take offence. The rest of us can simply dismiss them as words but still care about our fellow brothers and sisters in the same way (without being offended on their behalf too).

It's just a different way of looking at things, I guess.

Good. we can leave it at that.

...Oh, but just one more thing.

Can I save these two posts?

Just standard procedure, it's for the file.

I'll use them next time someone, anyone, tries to compare MY views with the nazi regime as has been happened on here, many times before. You two must not have noticed, I dont remember you two condemning it when it happened to me.

To be fair, you did talk about gassing people!

But as I recall, we got our wires crossed over who you were talking about gassing. I’m against the death penalty but if it’s to be used, I guess gassing is as good a technique as any.

a horrible stupid and inappropriate joke on my part and I guess it will follow me to the end of days.

Ironically, it was directed at people who abuse women, but it doesnt matter.

the insult has popped up at a few other occasions too, but time has clouded my memory. I forgot, who, what or why but I can still feel the sour taste it left to this day

I don't remember that at all, to be honest.

Everyone gets compared to Nazis from time to time. As most of us have stated at various points, it’s called ‘Godwin’s Law’. Godwin himself recently said that the coined the term to encourage people to thing a little bit before making casual comparisons to one of the worst periods in human history. He also said though that people shouldn’t feel that they should NEVER compare things to Nazism, giving the example of the rise of Trump. Whilst we shouldn’t make flippant references to Nazism, if we forget about it complete, we’ll fail to learn from it.

Personally I’m not someone who thinks that Nazism or Hitler should never be a joking matter. And I even think occasionally comparing something to Nazism for comic effect is occasionally amusing. But the term ‘feminazi’ is so obviously inappropriate that I’m amazed we’re still discussing this over a year on: This isn’t a body building forum, it’s a forum for a band with a long LGBT history.

Eg this is funny - not because banning jeans is like Nazism, but because comparing a dress code to Nazism is so ridiculous that it’s quite funny. We’re laughing at Partridge, not with him.

Just saying, if you don't want to offend somebody, "Nazi" should be #1 or close to it on the list of things not to call them. But if you don't care who you might be offending, I suppose it's kind of useless for me to say that.

And anyway, I'm from America...we don't take OFFENCE, we take OFFENSE!

Yes - having the default position of "I'm a good person so if I offend anyone they must be a leftie snowflake" leaves very little room for introspection and personal growth.

personal growth is the mark of a wise man.
