4 more than you get for making a comment which both the victim and the FA accept wasn't racist. Yeah, I agree he definitely should have got more!

nowt to do with the racist bollocks though. Barton is a thug. Maybe, just maybe, if Liverpool, King Kenny and Suarez had taken a different stance, things might have worked out different.

Let's see what happens post July. ;)

Exactly, Liverpool fans can defend him all they like, but the guy as a problem, not just this case, but other instances when he loses his rag at the slightest incidents, i expect a fair few reds for him next season, horrible little bastard he is.

so Blatter thinks penalties are unfair now. The cynic in me is working overtime.

A stance that would be far easier to accept if it didn't come from a supporter of a team that has been graced by model professionals such as Roy Keane, Eric Cantona, and the entire team vs Andy D'Urso over the years. And managed by Ron "Desailly is a lazy n*****" Atkinson.

Longest bans handed out by FA
9 months - Manchester United's Eric Cantona for his 'kung-fu' style kick
9 months - Chelsea keeper Mark Bosnich who tested positive for cocaine
8 months - Rio Ferdinand of Manchester United for missing a drugs test
11 games - Sheffield Wednesday's Paolo di Canio for pushing over referee Paul Alcock
10 games - Former Southampton player David Prutton for shoving referee Alan Wiley
9 games - Paul Davis of Arsenal for punching Southampton's Glenn Cockeril
8 games - Liverpool's Luis Suarez for racially abusing Patrice Evra
5 weeks - Man United's Roy Keane for comments made in his autobiography

3 of the top 8! Glass houses, etc.

Although that list can't be right, because Toure isn't on it.

One of the sorry aspects of this issue is that Utd fans seem to think they have some kind of moral highground. What he is alleged to have said was stupid, but was said presumably to wind someone up, which it did. It doesn't necessarily follow that he actually has profoundly racist views. But I've seen so many comments on Facebook etc by Utd fans branding him 'filthy racist'. Presumably footballers who have affairs and spend hundreds of thousands keeping it out of the press are good lads...

Not all United fans stuck up for Cantona when he went berserk at Palace, even if he was provoked, i thought he deserved his ban, all Liverpool fans think the sun shines out of all their players arses, and they can do no wrong, and speaking of their fans what a complete disgrace to England they are, they think they're the best fans in the world, when really they rank amongst the worst surely, remember it was those tossers that got us banned from Europe for 5 years, i'm sure some Juventus parents will never forget.

It would be interesting to see the results if football fans from across the country were asked which club has the 'worst fans', and local rivalries were somehow controlled for. I'm biased - EVERYONE is biased - but I feel that Man Utd and Chelsea would almost certainly be at the top.

And it was Margaret Thatcher that got English teams banned. She practically begged UEFA to do it.

Thats right blame everyone but the fans, its far easier to point the finger the other way, never at yourselves, not the mighty Liverpool, they're all angels on Merseyside, whether its Maggie and the Tories, the Sun newspaper, the Yorkshire police, or some bar owner in Bulgaria, no where do we hear anyone connected to Pool come out and say something like ' actually our fans could be to blame a little here '.

Okay fine, Heysel was my fault. Half of me may have just been an unreleased ovum, and the other half an as-yet uncreated sperm, but I should accept my share of the blame.

The people who are responsible are to blame, they know who they are.

And a lot of them, rightly, went to jail.
