Nice to see the BBC settling in to their new surroundings...!

They used a full Anfield crowd to explain how many Lloyds TSB staff have lost their jobs recently.

Wasn't that my point?

Well you didn't mention Lloyds TSB, so you could have been talking about a totally seperate report.

Most of the teams reported back for pre-season training today  the new season will be here before we know it.

Thank goodness it didn't happen during a match.

John O'Shea, has now completed his move, and has signed a four-year deal at the Stadium of Light after the clubs agreed an undisclosed fee. Thanks for the years John, a great servant, and always reliable.

Hull and Barnsley were due to play Feyenoord in pre season friendlies but both games have been cancelled due to the threat of large scale disorder.

To say that I'm looking forward to this new season is just a tiny bit of an understatement, the team Bruce is forming is really starting to look more than decent.

Transfers In:
Ahmed Elmohammedy - ENPPI (£2m)
Sebastien Larsson - Birmingham City (Free)
Kieran Westwood - Coventry City (Free)
Connor Wickham - Ipswich Town (£8.1m)
Ji Dong-Won - Chunnam Dragons (£2m)
Craig Gardner - Birmingham City (£6m)
Roarie Deacon - Arsenal (Free)
Wes Brown - Manchester United (£3m)
John O'Shea - Manchester United (£4m)
David Vaughan - Blackpool (Free)

Transfers Out:
Jordan Henderson - Liverpool (£20m)
Jean-Yves M'voto - Oldham Athletic (Free)
David Healy - Rangers (Free)

We've so far strengthened every position we needed to, and once we've brought in another striker (plus David N'Gog as part of the Henderson deal) we'll be in a much healthier situation. I would still love for us to bring in another left winger to really seal the deal too. Rumours are flying around of N'Zogbia and Defoe being announced by the club directly to the fans, instead of the media, which is odd, but they would really complete us nicely. I'm amazed that Bruce has acted so fast this summer, and hopefully we'll reap the benefits from it, with the squad being able to have more time to gel than you'd usually expect. Good things may well happen this season.

It looks very decent, hope Brucie can get them playing well together, or he'll be looking for a new job before Xmas.

Managers constantly claim players play too many games which makes Rio's comment, scroll to 12:30, look a bit silly.

Going by what he said on twitter, it was an all star game he was talking about, not an all star league. bit of a difference...

Sounds better than the charity shield, anyway

Villa sign Shay Given and hand him a 5 year contract  not bad for a 35 year old keeper with a dodgy shoulder.
