Why is CTV(the channel) using the theme song to the Canadian Winter Olympics...tacky!!!

I actually like One Direction! Great to see a (another) British boy band on top of the world!

I like it... they give some good lessons to those who say that once you're in a wheelchair, you're useless. Many of them go beyound impossible.

It's not nonsense fd just because YOU don't like it, there is nothing wrong at all with those who have suffed some form of illness, accident or misfortune who are not as able as others from competing in competitions against others in the world in the same boat. most of them have crossed many bigger hurdles then the able bodied sportsman and women because they have had to overcome their disabilities as well as training just as hard to get to the top of their sport. (no puns intended).
Thankfully not everyone shares your views, I tried to get tickets for any event for the Paralympics and there are no tickets available for any events at all.

Pastie said it better than I could, and was about to post some of that with a bit of icy's waffling. So thank you Pastie :bigups:.
I'm just sad it won't get the same coverage.

In my opinion Jesse j did a very good job. She is no more Freddie, than what PR and AL were. Brian guitar solo was brilliant. I'm sure his guitar got bigger, the closer Jessie J got to him. :onfire: :onfire:

I think the music section of the closing ceremony went on a bit too long really. I was starting to get bored in the middle section - just after the Lennon section.

Best thing about last night - no Paul McCartney performance. I love THe Beatles but Macca was awful at the opening ceremony.

I thought the highlight was the formation of John Lennon's face on stage. That looked great. The crowd singing along to Freddie was a close second.

Do I have to keep adding 'in my opinion' to everything?

Good for you if you like watching disabled people competing in sport. Personally, it holds nothing for me at all, that's why I won't watch it. Does that mean that I treat disabled people badly or that I don't care about them? No, it absolutely does not...it just means that watching people play basketball in wheelchairs is of no possible entertainment value ('to me', I have to add that because you think I am talking for the whole world). It's not on BBC1 like the Olympics were...ever wondered why that is?
