Congratulations to Andy Murray winning the men's final at Wimbledon.

If "anything" spoiled it, it was that twat Alex Salmond trying to turn it into a political event, by choosing an inappropriate moment differentiating between being British and being Scottish. If Wimbledon was in f*cking Glasgow, then fair enough. Let's understand that if fish face Salmond has his way, then Murray winning at Wimbledon would be no different to Murray winning in Paris.

To be fair, the Scottish flag was flying over 10 Downing Street this morning.

Just waiting for John Terry to lift the trophy.

Isn't that a fair point though?

If Salmond gets what he's after, then the fact Murray won at Wimbledon has absolutely NO significance at all over him winning ANY other championship around the world. The significance of the event IS that Murray is the first Brit to win the men's title in over seventy years. Yes, he's Scottish, and good on hin (Murray) for being proud of that.

I just find Salmond's presence there a bit sinister, given what his agenda is. OK, you could say the same about Cameron, but he IS the prime minister of the whole she-bang, as it is at the moment.

I would assume that, in the unlikely event of Salmond getting his way and the Scottish vote in favour of leaving the UK, then the current British citizens in Scotland would at least be able to chose to stay British nationals or Scottish. So the likes of Murray might still chose to represent GB rather than Scotland.
