Wow, ! Is your bike holding up?

Just about! :P

I want to see before and after pics. Just kidding there, but do you put a lot of money to keep it going?

No, bikes are quite easy to maintain really and very simple to repair. A chain lasts about 6 weeks, so I always change the cassette at the same time, the odd cable breaks, the derailleur might need a tweak, a tyre here and there...occasionally a bearing. My bike isn't a good one though, it was quite cheap, but I hope to get a carbon model next year.

Well, this year will be 6500 miles or so, by design. I'm happy with that, 10K was a bit too many really.

:wow:
That is very impressive, fd :D
If I could bike that much, it would take me to my home province. Nearly 6000 km's.

I know what will happen now that I have said this, but I don't get ill anymore! I don't seem to get colds...despite everyone and I mean everyone at work getting it. Maybe there is something in this keep fit lark!

It's hard though, it's bloody hard to get motivated when it's 2 degrees.... :P

Summer is coming!

I've got a fucking cold right now. I feel fine, but I'm coughing up all sorts of gunge.

I've not cycled since mid-October. I can't be doing with cycling in the dark or the cold. I've been running though. Not as much as I did in Australia, but around twice a week outdoors, plus the gym. I'm 7kg heavier than I was in May though!! It's outrageous! However I'm not fat like the Fat Freddie period. My clothes fit me just as well as they did 7kg ago; whereas 18 months ago they didn't. Apparently my body fat percentage is 18.5% which I think is borderline acceptable.

I need to get into shape though because I'm hopefully climbing a wee hill in April.

I've made another potential life change as well - currently on day 7 - but I won't say what it is until I'm at least 3 months in. That way when I fail I can just lie.

Well obviously I'm not giving up alcohol!
Just red meat? What sort of half-arsed pathetic effort would that be?! No, I've gone full leftie (not FULL leftie, obviously).

I'm on day 9 and it's been easy so far! I haven't had to have fast food yet though, and haven't been to a restaurant.

I'm Donalding like nobody's business though
