Doesn't look good though, his car wound up going in underneath the tractor, and that kind of rings of Maria De Vilotta's accident, during testing, which was also with the Morussia team.

I haven't seen any, but apparently photographs show the roll hoop torn off the car, which is not a good sign.

They've released a statement saying he's critical but stable.

F*cking hell. He couldn't have hit that any worse if he'd been aiming for it!

Surprised he still had a head left on him to take to hospital.

It seems odd that this video is being taken down left right and centre, no alternate angles have been given, and Sky decided to just abandon all programming.

Without being ghoulish, at what point do we move from dealing with issues sensitively, to actually manipulating the news?

I've seen worse than this - Roger Williamson & David Purley being one that always comes to mind.

You're never going to get people to appreciate something is dangerous, and how to sort out and reduce the danger, unless they know HOW it was dangerous.

As you say, there's two dozen far worse incidents on the recent FIA approved DVD "1 - Life in the Fast Lane"

Just watching the clips, the marshal was lucky too cos when Bianchi hit the vehicle, he could have been injured by Sutil's car which was flying about in the air, not that far away!

How can they take this video down and not have any footage, and we can see Senna's accident in detail? And Senna's brain was coming out from his nose....

That was a long time ago.

Remember, Senna's crash was censored at the time - maybe not globally but the BBC at least refused to show footage of him being operated on beside the track, they switched to one of their own cameras pointed at the pit lane.

I suppose there's always the chance Bianchi's family don't want footage of the crash being spread around.

What can they do if the footage was from a personal camera?

Probably nothing as they don't own the rights to it.

There is a similar video on YouTube of the Senna accident, taken from the hairpin just after where the crash was, looking back down the track. It doesn't show the impact though, as the person filming obviously didn't expect it to happen, but it shows some out laps, the first lap, the safety car lap after the crash on the start grid, and the aftermath of Senna's crash. Again, the FIA can't do anything about it as they don't own the rights to it.

I suspect the back of the ticket says that Bernie owns the rights to any footage shot at the event.
