Yeah, strange, he was mostly excellent one day and then mostly rubbish the next. It doesn't matter too much as preparation for Wimbledon, but a few more matches on grass would have helped a bit.

Muzza is seeded 3, and has a good draw, although if he reaches the Semi Final (which I think he should do), he will have had a good Wimbledon, after the year he has had with his injury/operation etc.

He starts tomorrow, good luck to him and all the other British players!

Lots of rain due at the weekend :-|

Good solid start for Muzza, but most of the other Brits knocked out yesterday on the very first day

He served well yesterday, and if he serves well he has a chance this Wimbledon at least, if he doesn't serve well, no chance!

Oh and it was David Goffin he beat yesterday, who i've always though should play mixed doubles with Vania King :)

It was easy, but he only had an overall 1st serve in percentage of 60% for the match, that's still too low really, if he can get that up to 70% later in the tournament, I think he can probably beat anyone this year!

Little?

Some great matches already this Wimbledon including Djokovic, Nadal and Gasquet.

Heather Watson played really well against a Top10 player, but lost, so Muzza is the last Brit left in the Singles, so no surprises there!

He has a potentially tough match today, an almost guaranteed 4 setter I reckon.

Well that was the best Murray has played since Wimbledon last year, really promising to see him hitting the ball so well again.

However his serving is still a problem, it is improving, but not good enough. 63% first serves in, needs to be higher 60's to beat Djokovic/Nadal/Federer; and 39% points won on second serve against that opponent is actually quite worrying, he probably can't do much about that at this stage (his 2nd serve will currently always be a weakness), so getting that 1st serve in % up to the high 60's or above is key I think next week!

Oh and anyone who doesn't rate tennis should have seen the Dimitrov vs Dolgopolov match yesterday, especially the first 3 sets were remarkable tennis, with amazing shot making. If only all tennis was this exciting. And if Dimitrov plays that well against Murray on wednesday (if they both get through), it's going to be a very close match

Why don't they put this on ITV and Channel 4 as well and be done with it? Is it really necessary for it to be on two prime time TV channels at the same time? Stupid game...it's almost as bad as bloody cricket. :P

It's only on prime time on 1 TV channel to be fair, it's on in the afternoon on BBC1 and 2, but only for a few hours, and how many people watch the telly in the afternoons? I do think that the BBC spend too much on it though, with dozens of presenters and pundits, there is no need for that at all. It's the pattern the BBC have followed for years now, spending more and more money on a few premium programmes, but less on all other programmes, reducing variety and diversity. I'm a huge fan of the BBC (and the licence fee), but they often try to be too commercial lately, and that should not be their remit.

Anyway tennis is brilliant, and nothing like cricket, in fact tennis is more like boxing than any other sport really, only with more skill!

Most people have around 200 channels these days, i'm sure they can find something other than sport to watch.

Should be quite straightforward for Muzza today, but I just hope he isn't thinking that, even sub-conciously as a 3 set win is going to be important today, to save some energies for wednesday against a probable Dimitrov!

Well played by Murray with excellent 1st serve in at 73%, and he is going to need something similar against Dimitrov on wednesday. I think this will be a very close match. If Murray plays at his best he will win, but anything less and the Bulgarian will reach his first Grand Slam Semi-Final.

Although it's all irrelevant as whoever wins this will lose to Djokovic anyway, he looks to be a different class!

A brilliant match today between Nadal and Kyrgios, with the young Australian amazingly winning, another great example of a brilliant tennis match for any doubters out there :)
