A brilliant match today between Nadal and Kyrgios, with the young Australian amazingly winning, another great example of a brilliant tennis match for any doubters out there :)

That young man is gonna be a superstar of the tennis world.

Yeah, it wasn't even close, Dimitrov played well and Murray didn't!

Muzza's serve wasn't the only problem today frankly, but his first serve in of only 61% is never going to be good enough, especially as he was often slowing it down just to get it in

He isn't hitting his ground strokes with enough power, he is spinning the ball too much and not hitting flat enough, this seems to be a hangover from the clay court season, he certainly wasn't playing Wimbledon winning tennis. In fact he hasn't beaten a Top10 player at all since winning Wimbledon last year, another absolutely shocking stat!

Anyway so it's Djokovic v Federer in the final, and apparently they havn't played each other in a Grand Slam final since 2007, is that right? Amazing if true, considering they have been 2 of the 3 best players over that time

I thought Djokovic would win it this year before it started, and I'm not changing my mind now, so Novak in 4 for me.

Djokovic takes the title beating Federer 6-7 (7-9) 6-4 7-6 (7-4) 5-7 6-4 in a great battle, well done both.

Superb play by Kvitova, amazing, best standard of womens tennis I've seen possibly ever!

Yeah he didn't win in 4, but I was close!

Another brilliant match, Federer had a break point in the last set, but couldn't take it, it was so close, with some really great play by both of them :)

I'll admit I missed the match because I was busy watching F1, but I'm happy Djokovic won.

I did flick over to watch some of the Grand Prix, was quite exciting for F1 I thought, but mainly watched the tennis. I'd have normally wanted Novak to win this, but think it may be Federer's last chance to win a Grand Slam tournament, and he was playing really well, so I was supporting Federer this time.

Some amazing tennis from both of them, it did just come down to a few points. Incidentally Murray is a long way off this standard, and there has to be a worry he will never get back to his previous best, we will see over the next year or so I guess, but i doubt it at the moment. He is down to number 10 in the world rankings!

So the US Open is about to start how exciting :?

With Nadal injured and not there, there will be some excitement missing definitely.

Murray has lost it since winning Wimbledon basically, will he ever get it back? That's the question, and I really don't know at the moment. It's ridiculous to say after the last few years, but if Muzza reaches the Quarters then he will have probably had a good tournament!

Well Muzza did reach the quarters at the US Open, and that was indeed the best that could be expected sadly.

And Cilic won it, what a shocker

Yeah, he can't seem to get it right this year, even backing the independence Yes vote at the last minute, which PR wise was a disaster for him by the looks of it, oh dear!

Maybe next year will be his year. I actually think his bad back is stopping him from practising and working on his serve, because that is clearly his weakness this year. I've said this for years anyway, but if he worked on his serve (it has loads of potential), he can get back to the Top4 and win more Grand Slam tournaments, I'm sure of that.
