I fear the main loser out of this Sterling saga will be Sterling. He'll go somewhere where he'll spend a lot of time warming the bench, and when they're sick of paying his wages, someone like Sunderland or Aston Villa will take him. The only club he should be considering is Arsenal. He'll go backwards anywhere else. He's not Suarez - he can't waltz into the Barcelona starting line-up.

Sepp Blatter wrote: In fact, today’s action by the Swiss Office of the Attorney General was set in motion when we submitted a dossier to the Swiss authorities late last year. Let me be clear: such misconduct has no place in football and we will ensure that those who engage in it are put out of the game. Following the events of today, the independent Ethics Committee – which is in the midst of its own proceedings regarding the awarding of the 2018 and 2022 FIFA World Cups - took swift action to provisionally ban those individuals named by the authorities from any football-related activities at the national and international level.

If the independent ( ) Ethics Committee was taking "swift action" it might have acted on the dossier last year when it was submitted....

The issue of Qatar 2022 will of course rumble on. I'm sure Russia 2018 will go ahead but Qatar must now be in doubt. Although it's a ridiculous venue for a World Cup, it would be an insult to the hundreds of dead Nepalese migrant workers if they binned the whole thing and moved it to England.

I hear that some fella, presumably chuck Blazer, has been holding forth about Qatar losing the 2022 tournament, and I saw a headline that said "England are ready to host" which I thought was a bit rich - if Qatar aren't doing it, didn't Australia finish second in the vote?

Only in an 'eliminated about the first round with just one vote' sense.

some fellow paid for Brazil to lose 7x1 to Germany. Thousands of workers have died already in Qatar....

Barcelona sooo deserved the champions league. THey played far far better, but that 96th minute was a gift from the referee, it should have finished earlier.
I'm a globetrotter and I'm proud of it!

Incidentally if any Chelsea fans are wondering who Leicester City's new manager is, he's the guy who managed your team because you started supporting them.
