I agree that's a shame, as they deserve the exposure. Only argument against would be the damage to ticket sales, but I doubt there'd be a huge amount in it (tv fee vs lost tickets)

it is away tonight. One of my friends has driven there with his brother. Hull are charging £10 for the home leg. Will listen on Radio Humberside. Apparently Slovakian TV wanted the game for free wheras Trenchin wanted 5000 Euros for the rights.

Nil nil draw. Apparently Tom Huddlestone missed a Ronnie Rosenthal type sitter.

Missed a penalty, then hit the bar with the rebound, yes RR type thing.

That was a struggle but we got through 2-1 on aggregate.

Celtic lose both legs of their CL qualifier but will go through because Legia Warsaw fielded an ineligible player.

I agree it's incredibly harsh on Warsaw, but why do something so stupid?

Apparently he was suspended for three Champions League games so that was the two games in the earlier round against St. Patricks and the first leg against Celtic. But they didn't register him for the first St. Pat's leg which meant the suspension didn't count for that game and it carried over into the second leg against Celtic. The player has to be registered in the squad for the suspension to count, which I think confused Legia. Easy mistake to make IMO.

Easy mistake for a pub team to make, yes. They're a professional football team. It's probably one person's only job.

I like the way they are trying to make Celtic look like the bad guys. Would they refuse the Champion's League place if the boot was on the other foot and Celtic had f*cked up?

So the new season is upon us. Hopes for the season anyone?

For Hull I would be happy to finish around mid table and think we can do that as we have added to the squad. Still a bit short up front but we might be OK. A good run in a cup competition again and progress to the group stages of the Europa League will make me very happy.

My hopes are for a better season than the last one for Man United, it can't get worse surely, a top 4 finish is a must, and we've had a good pre-season and the new signings seem settled, looking forward, first game v Swansea at home, live on BT Sports.

Top 4, but more importantly - playing attacking football as opposed to trying to make it difficult for the other team.

Not disappearing off around the world for a friendly every time there's a European midweek would be nice too.

In European news, what's the general view of Suarez's appeal?

Initially I thought they'd got it spot on, allowing him to train, but then it came out that friendlies were allowed, which seemed odd, especially as it seems to mean that his club is punished even more disproportionately than the national side (how many competitive games did Uruguay have in the next couple of months anyway?)

I'm sorry but that's the worst Man U squad I've seen in a long time.
