Go back as far as you want, Hoddle, Gasgoigne, Beckham. Someone who can move a ball thirty yards, and put it on a sixpence, nine times out of ten.

We haven't even got one of those on the horizon at the moment.

Tom Huddlestone can. Trouble is, he does not play for one of the fancy clubs.

Hodgson has also stated lately that he has stated his intention to form a younger squad, almost apologising for the likes of Rooney being 28. He feels if he adds any more players over 26 or so he will face criticism. 'Thud' falls into the category of 'too old' to rejoin the squad.
Stupid really, if you have players of that class still fit, you should bloody well use them.
Yes we want a good team in the future but we also would like to see England at their best in important games.

Poland 2 Scotland 2. Another step in the right direction. Certainly looking good under Strachan. Although Germany dropping points to Poland and Ireland hasn't helped us, need Germany to beat everyone else!! Massive game against Ireland at Celtic Park next month now!

Must win game against the Irish. I see we've invited the noisy neighbours up for a Kick about next month as well.

Yeah part of the deal when we played at Wembley last year for the English FA 150 years celebrations was a return leg. Got tickets for both Ireland and England games, looking forward to them!

Nervous game in Copenhagen, many attempts, Denmark could have scored 2 but Portugal did their best. Thankfully Quaresma is back with his accurate kicks and Ronaldo scored just before the final whistle.

Nice little 3-1 win over Slovenia for England.
Not an altogether bad match.
Now makes it 5 wins in a row for us, for the first time in 6 years.

Tuesday is Scotland vs England! Just a 'friendly' but it'll be a cracker I'm sure!

Scotland 0 - England 1 at half time. Why can't England play this way against all opponents? Lively, aggressive, hungry. Okay maybe a little over zealous, many passes too long or hard, but hopefully 2nd half will be better still.
Scotland look dangerous at times though, so lets see...

ETA Final score Scotland 1 - England 3
Very good game.

Virgine, it's Latvia :)

Portugal won 1-0 to Argentina in a friendly at the Old Trafford! Last minute goal by Raphael Guerreiro in his 2nd match for the national team! So much hype for the CR-Messi meeting, they only played 45m.
