You got to hand it to the Icelandics.

Two attacks, two goals. Half time: England 1 - 2 Iceland

Looks like it.

Everyone knew they could defend, England didn't know they had such a reasonable strike rate. Two goals from three attacks.

Congratulations to Iceland. Fingers crossed it'll be a very interesting Wales - Iceland final.

Don't know but it's up there with the worst.

All through this championship, on-target shooting hasn't been anything to write home about. No good dominating games if you can't fucking score.

Supporting Tottenham, it's nice to see five players in the starting squad, except when they perform like that.

they should get rid of "rooney the looney" and put that substitute in the base. if they had a coach that doesn't have the charisma of a wet rag, that is

I am reading a book at the moment called Fifty Years of Hurt. About the England team since 1966. Looks like a few more painful years for us.

I dunno, it would have been 4-1 if a lesser keeper had been there.

We had a dream start and defended the lead for less than 90 seconds. After that second one creeped in, I think all the England team could see were today's headlines, and they went to pieces.

If they'd been facing Germany, at least they would have probably expected they'd be chasing the game, but I guess it's a bit like Man Utd after taking the lead, suddenly being 2-1 down to Bognor Regis in the FA Cup. The shock just got to them.

These players have got to pull themselves together after that embarresment, and learn how to shoot on target again. Better finishing, and they'd have easily gone in at half time 4-2 up. You can't say the same for Iceland, they only had two chances in the first half, and scored with both of them.

I guess it just proves that 11 superstars on crazy money, don't necessarily "make a team", and that being able to play "as a team" comes before superior individual talent.

Wales have that cohesion, and that's why with the exception of Gareth Bale, seem to be able to punch above their weight.

Used to work with a load of Icelandics.

Very fucking dry sense of humour.

They used to wind up English girls by telling them the various ways their mothers used to cook penguins, and how delicious they were.

Poor ladies never really clicked that Britain's about a thousand miles closer to where penguins come from, than Iceland is. ie The South Pole, not the North.
