Patrice Evra was sent off after appearing to kick a fan in the head before his Marseille side's Europa League game at Vitoria Guimaraes.
He must have been watching Eric Cantona, :?

I know what he’s going to give as his excuse...

How about Hernandez, who has used the same word as Suarez to refer to dark-skinned teammates?

Anyway. Evra will likely be sacked and/or prosecuted, just like Cantona should have been. Serious questions should also be asked of either the French national setup or any club these two men have had in common, because there must be a cultural problem if they think it’s okay to kick fans in the head.

I believe that at one club, youth players would regularly be tied up with a large football-bag over their head, and would then have footballs drop kicked at any moment from all directions without warning. I believe that Nicky Butt was particularly cruel when it came to this practice.

7 month ban for this nasty little man, who can no longer hide his true character from the world. Will the police investigate his violent assault?

Sacked and suspended from all European football until next season, i dare say his career is finished. Excellent player at his peak, but let himself down in the end.

Holgate assaults Firmino so that he goes flying over the advertising boards, and the big news story is that Holgate (Who I’m sure speaks fluent Portuguese) feels Firmino responded by facially abusing him.

Come on, Everton. You’re not Man Utd.

Yes Holgate should have been carded for the push on Firmino, but Its blatantly obvious that Firmino then said something bad to Holgate, no player reacts like he did without either being abused verbally or spat at, and there was no sign of the latter.
Lets see what the probe by the FA finds once they have the refs report.

2 very big surprises(not) this evening.

Mark Hughes has been sacked as manager of Stoke City, just hours after the club's FA Cup third-round exit at the hands of League Two Coventry City.

Barcelona will sign Liverpool midfielder Philippe Coutinho in a £142m deal.

It looks like Firmino first said “filho de puta” (son of a bitch), and then his mouth was obscured by the ref’s head and he said something ending with “oh”, after which Holgate went crazy. Given what little I know about South American colloquialisms, he probably used the word “negro”, which players such as Hernandez and Suarez have used in the past (although it’s considered fine when Hernandez says it).

Hopefully the FA will use common sense given the extreme provocation and the fact that the word is not considered offensive in South America. However, discriminatory behaviour now carries a mandatory 5 match ban so I suspect that’s what Firmino will get.

Given that Coutinho is off, I suspect Firmino will follow him to Spain, where the FA understand Hispanic languages better. So the Fab Four will become just two.

Sad to hear of Cyrille Regis's demise today, only 59 :-(

And last week we lost Liverpool keeper Tommy Lawrence aged 77, who despite playing for the enemy was a very nice guy and a boyhood fav keeper of mine. :-(
