I've just had a thought: EVERY season of new Doctor Who has featured both the Daleks and Regeneration. I wonder if next year could go without?

Spoiler! :
Daleks:
1: Dalek, Bad Wolf/The Parting Of The Ways
2: Army Of Ghosts/Doomsday
3: Daleks In Manhatten
4: The Stolen Earth/Journey's End
Specials: The Waters Of Mars (cameo)
5: Victory Of The Daleks, The Pandorica Opens/The Big Bang
6: The Wedding Of River Song (cameo)
7: The Asylum Of The Daleks
8: Into The Dalek

Regeneration:
1: 9 to 10
2: 9 to 10, 10's hand
3: The Master
4: 10's metacrisis
Specials: 10 to 11
5: 10 to 11
6: River Song's regenerations
7: 11 to 12, plus 8 to Capt. Grumpy and Capt. Grumpy to 9 in the Specials
8: 11 to 12

Good episode but... Would it not leave both the Doctor and Pink with childhood memories of Clara?
Ok the Doc can fathom that but Pink?
Will that be explored as their relationship blossoms?

It would be a pretty small memory though. I can't remember faces from 10 years ago, never mind 20.

I thought that the episode was quite weak. Story line relied too much on the clever twist. Still a big fan of Peter Capaldi though.

Is it just me or is Peter Capaldi morphing into Kelly's Heroes era Donald Sutherland before our very eyes.

So is Gallifrey timelocked, or can anyone now just flip back in time to visit it? And if so, why the fuck didn't the Doctor think of doing that first so as to bring Gallifrey back before it disappeared? Usual Moffaty-woffaty timey-wimey bollocks.

If he brought Gallifrey back from before the Time War, it wouldn't have disappeared in the Time War and the Daleks would have destroyed the universe or something.

They could visit it because the safeguards were off the TARDIS. If the Doctor knew, he'd try to go again which could be catastrophic, so Clara made him promise not to.

Remember when there are two Doctors in the same place the past incarnation usually will not remember the events.. not sure if 12 not leaving the Tardis changes that, but it’s a theory. Other thing is it was 1.995 years ago give or take :P

Certain points/events are “time locked” but not all of Gallifrey and its history. Take Pompeii, the day of the volcano is time locked The Doctor can not change that.. but he can show up and be there.
The Doctor can go back to Gallifrey from the moment of its creation up to the second before it was hidden in the pocket universe.

Who's to say that the 507th Doctor will not finally fall at another battle of Tenzalore?

A couple things, I think that when the Doctor refuses to take Journey Blue into the Tardis is a reference to the all of the new Doctors refusing to recognize John Hurt's War Doctor as an official "Doctor" because he was a soldier. I think that Capaldi's Doctor is the same in wanting to forget what the War Doctor did (or at least could've done depending on how you look at Day of the Doctor). Second, do you think that Missy being in "heaven" could be a River because in Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead how she died and went to a kind of virtual heaven with all of her fallen friends? To put it another way could Missy be River living in the virtual world the Tenth Doctor uploaded her into? This would fit because of how Missy referred to the Doctor as her boyfriend in Deep Breath. Also I'm pretty sure calling the Dalek "Rusty" might be an in-joke with Steven Moffat to Russell T Davies.

in regard to the first part of your theory-

The War Doctor: Go back. Go back to your lives. Go on, be the Doctor that I could never be. Make it worthwhile.
Ten: All those years, burying you in my memory.
The Doctor: Pretending you didn't exist. Keeping you a secret, even from myself.
Ten: Pretending you weren't the Doctor, when you were the Doctor more than anybody else.
The Doctor: You were the Doctor on the day it wasn't possible to get it right.
Ten: But this time...
The Doctor: You don't have to do it alone.
The War Doctor: Thank you.

Damned blooming crappy BBC iPlayer (mobile app - Windows phone).
I don't have a TV so watch what little TV that takes my fancy, on a mobile phone.
That's great for ITV player, 4OD, utoob etc. but the iplayer app is an absolute crock of something smelly and putrid.
It takes me about three days to watch one ep of Doctor Who because the video keeps stopping and starting, replaying the last 10 seconds, not good in a show about time travel in which a scene may be repeated several times as a plot device; replaying the last ten seconds of audio while the images associated, after freezing, then play in FF till they catch up to the sound; and worst of all endless stuttering - half a second of programme then a pause, repeat ad nauseam.
The last point is why it takes three days, that stuttering is so frustrating I have to switch the app off completely (telling it to "Foff then you C...") just to avoid smashing up the phone.

All I wanna do is watch Doctor pissing Who. (instead I get iplayer rage)
Every single review of the app says the same thing and it pisses me off no end that the Beeb can't or won't sort it out even in the face of such criticism.
Apparently the app worked great before the last update, but that's no good now.
