Poor Bryan. He shed lots of his male audience with all them ballads but he's a pop/rock genius if you ask me. This Jeff Lynne-produced album rocks

"As a musical, the film is often thrilling. Russell’s performances are exciting -- even seated at a piano, he looks like he’s about to jump out of his skin -- and there are also glimpses of an impossibly young Willie Nelson and George Jones..."
A.V. Club - Adam Nayman (06/30/2015)

"Some movies are time capsules. Take the lid from this can of film and you can inhale pure essence of 1974."
The Guardian - Peter Bradshaw (07/07/2016)

These guys totally knocked it out of the park, (American saying, you Bitchish...oooh...British) in 2009 with this album. This became my all time fave of theirs!

What do you think? I bought it the day it came out and never played it again. Did the same thing with Rainbow Children and Planet Earth.

I was probably more open to the Paul Rodgers collaboration than a lot of others simply because I was a pre-existing fan of his work, especially with Bad Company. The Cosmos Rocks may have been kind of naff but I still think this is excellent.

Definitely one of his poorer albums. I like a few tracks and sometimes I'm in the mood for his funkier stuff. "Sign O' The Times" is my favorite Prince record. You?
