I've said for some time he should do music work outside of Queen and now he is! Hopefully they will record and tour some more together as well! RAWK!

The 'Deluxe Edition' of Last Of Our Kind just came out, today.....

I dont have it yet, but I am immortalized in the liner notes! They put the names of everyone in the "Darkness Army" Facebook group in there, (like they did with the original issue, but I joined too late for that) someone put a picture of all the names on Facebook...had to look through the fine print for a few minutes, but I'm in there!

Congrats, KingOfRhye!

Aside from your name being on the album, is there any other reason why you'd recommend me getting a hard copy? Otherwise, I'll probably just download the new tracks on iTunes, because I already own the original version.

Not really I guess, unless you want the songs in the original quality. (I really think it would be cool if Amazon and iTunes and places like that actually offered lossless audio files, especially now that Windows even supports FLAC)

Does Justin have braces now? Or am I just seeing things?

Your eyes do not deceive you there.

I am one of those folk who just don't 'get' The Darkness; I think they are a very Marmite band to say the least. I don't dislike them or anything like that, but I struggle to take them seriously on any level whatsoever...but then, to be honest, I have only heard the few earlier hits from their debut album.

You should listen to "Permission To Land" and "One Way Ticket To Hell..And Back", they're such a great and fun band and very creative. They just rock. I take them completely serious, although they're funny, of course. I'm sure you will discover some great rock songs on those two albums that will make you smile. 8-)

OK. Cheers for the recommendations.

I don't think there is anything wrong with some humour in rock (I'm a Queen fan, ffs! ), as long as the band has the musical talent to back it up. And - most importantly - great tunes.

What do you guys think of Pinewood Smile? I think it's another solid release...and with Rufus on drums? That's just icing on the cake for a Queen fan. I think I might like the album just a little better than Last Of Our Kind, but still not quite as good as Permission to Land. I'm not sure they'll ever do better than their first album.

I think it's just too weak. It's the first time I have no interest in a new Darkness release, at all. I listened to the album on Spotify, and there's just no track that excites me in any way. It's very sad, because basically I love them dearly. I've seen them live twice, have got the other 4 albums and maybe now it's over for me. These songs are just so uninspiring and weak, it's a true shame. This seems to happen with quite a lot artists or bands that I used to love - I was so excited to hear new things from The Darkness, or Muse, or The Killers.. And now they all completely disappoint me and can't even come close to their past glory.
