Green Day

Postby Killer King » Sat Sep 15, 2012 10:35 am

Any fans around? I've never been a big fan, just known the staples like American Idiot etc.

Anyway, they have three albums coming out in the next 6 months. Uno! this month, Dos! in September and Tre! in January.

That's a lot of good music they need to have written, a big ask. We may have lots of filler, but judging by these, all from Uno!, they've made a great start.

Dookie and Nimrod are so cool, much better than the current ones. They have the early raw sound and lyrics, I've been following them since the mid-90s...

I love this one

from Dookie

I never gave a good listening to Kerplunk though, gotta do it...

I was obsessed with Green Day when I was 12/13, and still listen to the first five albums fairly regularly. They started to go shaky at Warning and American Idiot (aka when BJA decided he wanted to be Fat Mike and instead turned into Avril Lavinge) is one of the most embarrassing downfalls in modern music.

Fantastic song from 39 Smooth:

MTV killed the music stars... and nowadays it looks more like Disney Channel.
Greenday got commercial, but I like American Idiot in general.

Billie Joe Armstrong is getting help for substance abuse. Sad, but it's good that he's getting help. Get well soon Billie.

As reflected by its poor reviews, failure to win any awards, awful sales figures and lack of an enduring legacy.

Fine. It's an embarrassing artistic downfall, in my opinion. Enjoy my ignore list.

The average 14 year old girl could kick the shit out of every member of the band.

I let out a depressing sigh every time i hear the likes of 'Good Charlotte' described as punk

The only Green Day track I am familiar with is the theme tune to the TV show 'Horrid Henry'.

"Green Day's Man-on-Man Kiss"

"Green Day lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong pulled an Adam Lambert and kissed a male fan on the lips while on stage at a concert in England on Wednesday.

No word if "GMA" will cancel any future Green Day performances."

Oops, just noticed this happened in 2010. I thought it was last Wednesday!

Billie Joe Armstrong is an open bisexual and he came out in the early 90s. He's also been kissing guys on stage way before Adam hit the Idol stage. I guess that makes him the first man that had some man on man action to have a number one album on the Billboard chart.

The karaoke singer is kind of.....

I get what you are saying but I think they have some good songs. I remember hating them when Dookie came out. I also hated Blink 182 but some of their stuff is OK now. Very stupid lyrics but catchy pop/punk.
