A sensation!! :shock:

* 2 new songs.
* Avatar tour

One of the two new songs that resulted, called I Still Have Faith in You, will feature in a TV special to air in December.

The statement concluded: “We may have come of age, but the song is new. And it feels good.”

I can't wait. It's like I have been waiting for this since I was younger. I never expected, but I always hoped for the band to make new music. Now this. It's a happy day for this fan :D

I don't think they ever could have AbbaMania again, but it's a great time to be their fan right now. :cool:

I purposely dug these out of storage ( ssshh don't tell :lol: ) today and I'm playing this n a sort of celebration :D
They were a very good band. It's amazing some of my favorite bands have reunited in the past few years :D and obviously I'm happy that there will be two new songs from Abba.

As far as melody lines, catchy tunes and harmonies goes, combined, they are the best pop group the World has ever seen. The incredible classy song writing skills of Benny and Björn, the vocals and the perfect instrumental backing music is in a league on its own. Then add to this an impressive studio production.

Their range between pop and beautiful ballads has always impressed me. The songs have a honesty about them, which make you believe in them. Above all they are a genuine band, not copying anyone.

The range between pure pop, disco and beautiful ballads has always impressed me.

Abba is similar to the Bee Gees, given the fact they are often underrated. It's a big shame that so many think both bands were disco, and nothing else.

Yep, they were quickly underrated because of their disco
hits, never credited enough for their contribution to music by the media and the music branch in general.

The truth is that they are the guilty pleasure of artists all over the World, even metal bands have admitted they are fans of their music.

Nothing wrong with guilty pleasure music ;) and I remember digging deeper into the Bee Gee back catalogue about two decades ago. What an amazing back catalogue before and after the Disco movement.
I think with some bands reuniting and working together again, is pretty dang awesome. I never thought I'd ever see the day Abba would make new music. It's like one of my entertainment wishes is now coming true.

Here's one of my favourite Abba-related tracks. Thia is Agnetha Faltskog, with We Move As One. It features backing vocals by John Wetton of Asia, and Geoff Downes, also of Asia, on keyboards. They released another version of this on the first Wetton/Downes album, which was aduet between John and Agnetha, and it sounded stunning. Here's Agnetha's original, with the Asia boys...

On vocals and harmonies, ABBA is better, dare I say even better than the Beach Boys. Not everyone is ready to admit that.

The book of songs and pioneering work of The Beatles are more impressive and important for the history of music, for sure. So was their originality and revolutionary music in the 60s, and their lyrics. With the help of Sir George Martin they also brought classical instruments and classic tones into their songs.

Production- and soundwise they are both great. Abba had the benefit of 70s technology, but still.

The combined catchy rythms, bass lines, harmonies and classic song writing is what I think makes ABBA stand out as the best pop group. Beatles was more than that, and not in the same category. I am sure all of the members of ABBA had Beatles as their inspiration and heroes.
