Yea, I just saw it. Better than he not have to hang on in an induced coma for weeks or more. RIP David. You won't be forgotten, that's for sure.

He clearly didn’t get the memo that I was trying to make a point that multiple organ failure isn’t necessarily synonymous with ‘about to die’. Indeed, there are plenty of people walking around in the community who technically have multiple organ failure! They’re not healthy people, but they’re not necessarily moribund.

Anyway, it’s sad that he’s died at 67. Quite young really.

He had dementia as well though.
Transplants are so important, I wonder if it would have worked for David if it could have been done in time?
Your post brings up a few questions I'd like to ask, but this thread not the place.

There’s dementia and there’s dementia. We don’t know what kind he had and what caused it, but I’d be surprised if undifferentiated dementia alone would exclude someone from a liver transplant in the USA. Often ongoing drinking excludes people in the UK, but celebrities tend to have more success in navigating their way around that obstacle than mere mortals; likewise celebrities for whom a new liver might give them a couple of years but not much longer. Off the top of my head, George Best, Lou Reed and Steve Jobs are obvious examples.

The liver issue is part of why I’m suspicious that Bowie actually had lung cancer with liver secondaries rather than a liver primary, because I’m sure he’d have got a transplant otherwise. Unless, of course, his heart was in no fit state for major surgery. I guess ultimately it shouldn’t matter to anyone other than him and his family.

I admit, even though you already know, that I don't know as much as you. That's why I said I had so may Q's.
Anyways, I'm off.

RIP David, not exactly my cup of tea, but i grew up watching The Partridge Family on TV, and hearing the songs of Cassidy, Essex, Osmond's etc coming from my sister's bedroom, so when i hear of the demise of 60s/70s pop stars, i cannot help but also think of my her.

He must have been scaringly Young when he started on Swapshop then.

I guess about 18 or 19?
What is left of your dream?
Just the words on your stone.
A man who learnt how to teach,
But forgot how to learn.

Swap shop started in 1976 so that would be about right.
