LEMONed I Scream

Indeed, there are plenty of people walking around in the community who technically have multiple organ failure! They’re not healthy people, but they’re not necessarily moribund.
Anyway, it’s sad that he’s died at 67. Quite young really.

We don’t know what kind he had and what caused it, but I’d be surprised if undifferentiated dementia alone would exclude someone from a liver transplant in the USA. Often ongoing drinking excludes people in the UK, but celebrities tend to have more success in navigating their way around that obstacle than mere mortals; likewise celebrities for whom a new liver might give them a couple of years but not much longer. Off the top of my head, George Best, Lou Reed and Steve Jobs are obvious examples.
The liver issue is part of why I’m suspicious that Bowie actually had lung cancer with liver secondaries rather than a liver primary, because I’m sure he’d have got a transplant otherwise. Unless, of course, his heart was in no fit state for major surgery. I guess ultimately it shouldn’t matter to anyone other than him and his family.
