And of course there were also some people who were not too well known outside the Queensphere but who also passed away: Fred's mum, Fred's guitarist, Brian's first live guitarist... and probably someone else I cannot quite remember at the moment.
John hated Hot Space. Frederick's favourite singer was not Paul Rodgers. Roger did not compose 'Innuendo.' Witness testimonies are often inaccurate. Scotland's not in England. 'Bo Rhap' hasn't got 180 voices.

Has it been more than a year since that fellow that was head of their trucks died? I can't remember. Ah, no, that was 3 years ago.

Richard Adams, author of Watership Down, died on December 24th...

One fine writer!

Think I mentioned his passing on another page of this thread. But yes, fine writer.

William Christopher passed away earlier, he was on MASH.

Just under the wire, depending on where he was living, the man that played Father Mulcahy on Mash died.

Bearing in mind that George Michael was only 53, there's so many names potentially in the queue, that I don't see this year being any better than the last, or next year for that matter.

I think we're just entering a time where we are fifty years on from where media stars became more than just a handful of people. Mid-sixties, and you started having more than three or four bands or singers dominating the charts, more than just half a dozen movie stars. The more celebrities you have, the more there is/are to lose.

Being fair, there are a few that would be entering the range now, who departed MANY years ago... Jimi Hendrix, Eddie Cochran, Stevie Ray Vaughan etc. etc. But you can bet this year is going to take a few that we almost might have thought were invincible.
What is left of your dream?
Just the words on your stone.
A man who learnt how to teach,
But forgot how to learn.

Captain Eugene Cernan, the last (so far) man to walk on the Moon, has passed. Farewell Captain Cernan- I think your spaceship knows which way to go- give my regards to Major Glenn and the Star Man when you get there... :(

A Texas friend of mine that is retired space industry posted that. I responded that "I don't know why, but that is something to reflect(ponder) on. As if some kind of cosmic chain has been broken."

He agreed.

Another Mott the Hoople member has passed away. That's almost exactly one year after the previous one.

I watched Lisa Ronson and her hand tonight in Hull. Morgan Fisher, who played with both Mott and Queen, was in her hand. He paid tribute to Pete and they played a stunning version of Saturday Gigs.

I just got on line and read that.

Wish people didn't get old and die. edited to add sick.
Though I haven't read the details on her yet, it could have been the best thing for her.

Too damn sad, and too many of them that were part of our entertainment lives going nearly every day.

You and I wish the same. It seems she was ill for awhile.
I agree, I'm still gutted about another celebrity death recently. Way too young and unexpected, it is hard to come to grips with it.
Too many losses. I hope the all are at peace.
