One of my favourite musicians, Pat Torpey, drummer with Mr Big, has died following a few years suffering with Parkinsons.

I first saw him play at The Marquee in 1992 and was blown away by his talent. Last time was in November - on this latest tour he's been doing backing vocals and percussion as he could no longer play the drums.

Just saw this. I had no idea he was ill. I know how much you admire the band.
He was a great drummer. One of the drummers I could watch for ages and never become bored.
RIP sir.

Expected, but still so sad.
John hated Hot Space. Frederick's favourite singer was not Paul Rodgers. Roger did not compose 'Innuendo.' Witness testimonies are often inaccurate. Scotland's not in England. 'Bo Rhap' hasn't got 180 voices.

Today is the 1985th (possibly...maybe...who knows) anniversary of the death of Britain’s second favourite Palestinian.

Thoughts and prayers to big JC.

I think you're between 4 and 6 years out. Roughly.

He was supposedly somewhere between 33-36 when they executed him. He did well to last as long as he did. Suspension trauma's a twat. Kills most people in a matter of a couple of hours, and that's without the nails, or the bloke with the long spear trying to hurry things along!

So, I guess it depends on whose version you believe, if any of them.

How they calculate Easter with any given level of accuracy, is also a bit of a mystery to me. So many full moons after such and such a date, and the nearest weekend to that. Fuck it, let's just make it whenever it's convenient to the chocolate companies, somewhere around March or April.
What is left of your dream?
Just the words on your stone.
A man who learnt how to teach,
But forgot how to learn.

It was meant to take him much longer to die. The point was that it was a cruel, tortuous death. The little plinth that his feet are on in most depictions is to allow him to breathe so he doesn’t die quite so quickly. I think his dad intervened and spared him the agony or something.

We don’t actually know for sure what he mechanism of death is in crucifixion:

Verne Troyer (mini me of Austin Powers fame) died today age 49.

suicide after years battling depression is reported as the cause of death. So freaking sad!!
.It is my uppermost hope that even histories' genius's lost their minds as they aged. I'd hate to think that I really am an idiot. sjm

Since the song fits the theme of this thread, I decided to post it here:
Last week I went to a concert of one of my favourite musicians (Michael Patrick Kelly) and he did a beautiful tribute to all the musicians, who died too young as victims of the rock‘n‘roll life. It still „haunts“ me. He wrote the song called „Requiem“ himself. It was really beautifully done, with a nice surprise for me as a Queen fan and a touching tribute to the latest victim Avicii. Here is the video I took:
