She made some pretty good records.

 :(
Very shocking and sad. For me, she was the face and the sound of the female alternative music.
I loved her music and voice. RIP.

She was so young. I was never a big fan or anything, but as someone who grew up in the nineties, of course she was part of my personal soundtrack, so to speak... and she was hot!
John hated Hot Space. Frederick's favourite singer was not Paul Rodgers. Roger did not compose 'Innuendo.' Witness testimonies are often inaccurate. Scotland's not in England. 'Bo Rhap' hasn't got 180 voices.

She was on the BBC One Show last year with The Cranberries, her voice was superb, but she looked very pale and thin.

I honestly never knew that Zombie was inspired by an IRA bombing.

Neither did one of the victims’ father, until yesterday:

Of course no one was actually supposed to die in that bombing...as was often the case, the fatalities were due to the IRA’s incompetence rather than their intentions.

I always thought Zombie was about the Bosnian conflict. One of the most heart wrenching songs of the 1990s, and still so appropriate today.
I can't play my Cranberries albums today, but I'm watching alot of the music on YouTube.

"Often the case"?

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of ... ce_process

Of course, these things are often a perspective argument, two sides to every story and all that, but my memory tells me that the vast majority of IRA bombings were designed to inflict the maximum damage and highest possible casualty toll. Warrenpoint, Aldershot, Catterick, the Guildford & Birmingham Pub Bombings, Enniskillen, Omagh, Brighton Grand Hotel, Hyde & Regent Parks, Deal Barracks, the list really does go on and on.

I appreciate all the shit that went before it, one side of the community being shafted by the other, but no-one can ever justify the carnage or write it off as a trivial by product of making a political point. They were blowing up buses with ONLY wives and little kids on, FFS, the reason being that as they were dependants of serving members of HM Forces, that made them "legitimate targets".

I can't defend the Parachute Regiment firing into a demonstration indiscriminently, in the name of the government, and equally I can't defend a small group of terrorists blowing up a shopping centre in the name of an entire section of the community, who in the main did not really want these people (and acts of violence) representing them.

Omagh wasn’t supposed to kill anyone. They phoned in a warning, and the public were evacuated INTO the blast zone.

They even apologised for it afterwards.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/events/north ... 153629.stm

It’s an empty apology of course - if you really don’t want to kill anyone, don’t leave bombs lying around in public places.

Likewise with Warrington, they phoned Samaritans and said there was a bomb outside Boots, but they got put through to the Liverpool branch and the wrong Boots was evacuated.

Again, it doesn’t make what they did in any way okay, and undoubtedly many of their murders were completely intentional.

At least with Islamic bombers, they only seem to fuck up people the once, eh? Equally as misguided that they're actually helping their cause any.

As I said, I'm not happy with some of the conduct from certain parties on either side of the "troubles". Let's leave it there.

I think a lot of the time, people who take prescription painkillers, over a period of time, kind of become resistant to the effects of the painkillers. It leaves them in a situation where they need to take more of the stuff to have any effect. However, the heart doesn't seem to suffer the same problem, and you reach a point where it just says "Nope, that's it!"

Absolutely. The same with booze. If you drink ten pints a day, there will come a time when that will not feel as if is having the desired effect so you drink 15 pints and so on.
