I like the sound, so fresh and beautiful, and that is so important amidst all the noise of those loud songs many have been doing. Female voices in the top keys which make ears bleed, crap electronic stuff and auto-tune, U2 with no surprising material, etc.
And yes, that performance was simple yet remarking. The attention is drawn to the song and that's what's important.
I'm a globetrotter and I'm proud of it!

i happen to own the previous album too "don't mind if i do (1999)" and i believe these new songs are equally as good, sometimes better like the single.

and thats a good thing, since the previous album was absolute gold too. very mellow, very enjoyable. kind of like "made in heaven": not one single bad song on it, a very blue mood.

this new one seems to be rockier, and that's a good thing! 8-)

I'll never forget the original documentary about Band Aid, and how Boy George added his vocal the next day. Isolated, his bit sounded f*cking terrible, but when you heard it with the rest of the track, it fitted so well, and was one of the high spots of the single.

Just goes to show, that music is often more about how things go together, not how they sound on their own.

The other day, I watched a Boy George special on Sky Arts, I think, and it was a really good watch. The fact I was glued to it for an hour, tells me that I like, and respect the bloke as an artist, a lot more than I might have previously thought.

He never wanted Do You Really Want To Hurt Me as a single, in fact, he went livid when Virgin issued it, saying he was going to quit the band. He admitted that he changed his tune a bit when it hit #1, and that OK, occasionally he might be wrong about things.
What is left of your dream?
Just the words on your stone.
A man who learnt how to teach,
But forgot how to learn.

Damn, tour is on hold because Boy George has a polyp in his throat. :(

That sucks and I would have loved to have seen both of those gigs as well. :( Morrissey has canceled on me five times in a row.
