How is AL right up there with the best of them? Songwriting? Production? Playing instrument/s? He definitely is not in the same leauge as Freddie onstage.

Well, Tyler loves making a fool of himself so she might have a point with that one. Adam will never match his star power but he can act a fool on stage.

Apparently Joe get's sick of it too.

Steven is zany in the best possible way. I'm sure it can be annoying for those who work with him, but it's his nutty side that I like. Steven Tyler would think be Steven Tyler without it if it makes sense.
AL is a whole other story. I still think he tries too hard to be the show and he wishes he was.

Yeah, you come back to us when Adam writes classic songs, has comparable talent like Freddie and Steven, has charisma and showmanship like Freddie and Steven.
AL isn't even close to all that in many ways. Sorry, it's a fact.

IMO Adam has charisma, talent and showmanship, just in a different way. What's the point in comparing people, all artists have their own style, they don't need to and shouldn't be the same, that would be boring.

What you see as trying too hard is IMO just Adam being himself. He'll always be trying to up his game, that's just who he is, solo or with Queen.

That’s what I meant, when I wrote, that they are different.

While we are waiting for news concerning Adam’s solo career, here is a video of an acoustic performance of Ghost Town 2016 in Perth. It was a small Radio concert during TOH-Tour. Although I love QAL‘s rock-version of that song a lot, this one isn’t bad ;) as well. And since some people here seem to like acoustic performances, I decided to leave it here.

I love this — shows his versatility in performing in an acoustic situation as well as in a big arena!

AL shines more when things are low key, like the video above. It's very rare these days for him to perform without all the bells and whistles, especially in the Queen shows. I still feel at times he is trying too hard.

I don't see that as trying too hard personally, I just think he adapts his stage show and singing style depending on whether it's a big arena or a small acoustic type promo event. Once he puts his album out he'll likely do more of these type gigs, he has with each album while promoting them.

Even on his solo tours he does the more upbeat funky part then has an acoustic section where it's low key.

The „problem“ here is, that he hasn’t done many performances outside of the Queen-shows since his last tour endet in May 2016. With Queen the shows are big. I like them, as well as the smaller concerts. It’s great to have both.
