I'll answer my own question here.

The 2016 mix of Life On Mars is effectively de-Ronson-ised. All the guitars have effectively been wiped from this version.
What is left of your dream?

I guess because the person remixing it liked Rick Wakeman's piano part a lot more than Mick Ronson's guitar work. Still a bloody good track, whatever.

I can't imagine that song without Ronson's work on it. I don't know if I would even want to listen to it without it.

Nah, it's passable. So good is the piano work, it carries it. If you'd never heard it before, you'd never know.

Couple of my mates managed to blag free tickets to the big in Hull commemorating the Ziggy Stardust album . By all accounts, it was a cracking gig.
