BBC4 tonight has a Proms concert devoted to Bowie, with classical music versions of his hits. Looks interesting, and one I'll record for later viewing.

The world's descent into shit has accelerated since he left us.
Despite having never met him or seen him live, and despite him having been musically active fairly recently having been absent for 10 years, I still feel like I really miss him. It's weird.

True and also the way he went out is just so "haunting" for the lack of a better word.

Our shopping centre in Bromley, where Bowie lived during the early seventies, now has a massive mural of him on prominent display. It features three versions of Bowie's face- the classic 'Aladdin Sane' lightning bolt, Jareth the Goblin King from Labyrinth, and a technicolour version of a photo from the Heathen album.

After all this time I still haven't processed it. 'All the nightmares came today and it looks as though they're
here to stay
' indeed.
John hated Hot Space. Frederick's favourite singer was not Paul Rodgers. Roger did not compose 'Innuendo.' Witness testimonies are often inaccurate. Scotland's not in England. 'Bo Rhap' hasn't got 180 voices.

Funnily enough, Leto did apparently channel Bowie:

Bowie and Eno are listed as contributors on the new Frank Ocean album. It's probably just a sample but Frank started working on this album two years ago so it could be something more.

You think you're over it and then you watch this:

phpBB [video]

It's weird - I remember soon after he died listing a top 20 Bowie songs and this doesn't even feature. Now it's comfortably number one, possibly my favourite song by ANYONE. I don't know if I'll ever get married, but if I do, I want it played at the wedding. I think I need to stop listening to it though. Save it for special occasions.

Lazarus to play in London, October to January. Boom.
Michael C. Hall to reprise his role. Boom.
Cast album with three new songs. Boom.

Who/what is Skepta and why is Jarvis Cocker convinced Bowie would be happy with him winning the Mercury Prize?!

Gutted.
Don't really understand why Skepta's so angry...Is it because he was dropped by his label?
